This is going to explode the file size, isn't it? :?

actually only 15 megs

I'm hurt. To think that you would actually think that I would make a map that was huge in filesize

only 15 megs, heh... we need the new map format quick
Although, I cannot deny that it does look nice

I don't see why ppl still whine about filesize.... 98% of our community has broadband!

Bryce renders quite nicely!! bright colors, just perfect for Spring IMO

Realistic looking maps don't look too good on spring imo!

imo bryce is basically photorealistic for games, or CG if you wanna put it that way.

Not sure if that makes any sense to anyone but me.

I'm thinking about not releasing this one, because I don't really wanna ruin my canyon trio... Hmmm.

I am however rendering a new look for hills and valley's as I type this. Render time so far has been about 10 hours (I'm using ultrafine antialiasing). Hopefully it will be done in about 7 hours when I get off work :-)

I dunno, if a lot of people want this I might just release under a different name or something. Meh.

What machine are you rendering on Forboding? And what size? 8192?

Ultrafine does take quite some extra time (my guess is almost twice as long), but the material that you use can also effect the rendertime drastically.

good luck!

I need to make a website first (freelancer jobs so now and then) after that i will make one more massive map. Probably will use your sticky technique with l3dt to make basis :D. Am looking forward to that very much.

What size to make it?? 24x24? 32x32? 38x38?

Spring can't handle bigger then 36x36

24x24 is big enough imo

Material is mountain something or other, modified a little but, but on closer inspection it seems to be much like the one cathralda uses... sorry about that, didn't want to step on your toes.

At any rate, 2.2 ghz 1.5 gigs of ddr 3200, 320 gig 7200rpm drive with 8 meg cache... 8 gig swapfile.
