Hey guys, I'm working through the source code about to write a map tool with Zaphod, and I don't wanna wait for him to get back to ask him a question :P I know Spring uses SMD for maps... but is SM3 a new map file format or something?

Zaphod is integrating a new map format to the game.

It will use texture splatting, so creating map will be a lot different than now.

( http://www.ogre3d.org/wiki/index.php/Ma ... _Splatting )

here to have a preview :

( map are stored trought text file and simple png/jpg picture, you should be able to see what's the point)

the post about it :
