Your lack of ingame screenshots in your last few maps make my cookies cry ='(

if anything I tend not to downlaod maps unelss I can see what it'd look like playing them, and a minimap screenshot tells me nothing about that a lot fo the time

well if you pay attention to my maps at all (because there are a absolute shitload of them) you already know what to expect == quality.

It's a 5 meg download, or perhaps I should throw in PS bullshots? You already know what you're getting. Plus, it's an 8x8. I could really care less about it honestly. GZ wanted small maps. THis is a really pretty, and good gameplay, 8x8 small map. However, I don't like working on anything below 12 x 12, so therefore I don't really care about it that much.

Besides, anyone that pays even a half ass attention to my maps knows that they are quality. At least, that's what I strive for, and imo I rarely miss (even though it does happen :)).

BTW AF, not chastising you, I'm just explaining that it takes too much work for too little gain. I run the game on all low settings, so my screenies generally aren't that great looking.

If someone wants to load it up in best settings and throw some shots in here I would appreciate it...

/me looks at AF :D

Not like the old day of posting loads of screenies... But i cant say i blame you if you have to run it on low settings...

(Admitadly screens can somtimes be a bad thing. Like, will people quit asking for the tree map?)

bullshots are nice, they ought to end up in the loading screen background :D

One little screenie isn't that hard? And if you're striving for quality, why not put in that last tiny bit of extra effort, the finishing touch, to let people see how it looks in-game? Someone could get the idea your just pumping out maps without caring about them.. I Think that isn't a very good approach of a mapper. No offense though, your maps are very nice, and play very good!

Just post one nice pic, and we're all happy :)

5 meg download dude. Not that hard. Sometimes I would like to see what your maps REALLY look like in game without seeing bullshots.

@bad dude

Reason it crashed was because you were using aai. Most ai's crash the game at sopme point. I think ntai doesnt crash much tho.

5 meg's later, a low settings screenshot... reminds me of this Dune game some time ago.

And before I forget, it's quite a nicely done map! :-)
I could not do it myself. :(

Forboding, take it easy man.

I think the file size of my maps are the up and also downside. Most screenshots i placed only have a overlay of brightness on explosions. But you can trust me, the file size is equal to the ingame screenshot quality ;). If you'd just test the maps, you'd see for yourself.

I was only making you aware that some people here like to see ingame shots. No need to sue me for my ingame-slightly-advanced screenshots..

All keep up the mapping, it's the gameplay that finally counts!

Don't get upset. I was only making a point Ice. I did look at Center Rock, and honestly my only complaint is that I think you have bump mapping settings too high. That and the lack of metal but that's been fixed.

BTW I would appreciate you taking some time with me at some point and showing me how you draw your heightmaps. I loaded up center rock and exported the heightmap. I was really impressed, but meh. Anyways :D

no problem man. I don't feel like getting upset :)

Centerrock heightmap was pure Photoshop. You also use a Pen-mouse right? Well, i have to say, it was a pain in the @ss to make it and tweak it so every unit could pass every slope...

Nextmap i will do a bit simpler...

Less is more not? :P

We need to speak on teamspeak sometime.

Seriously dude, cut the crap and give Ice some respect- his maps are vastly superioer to yours.

Plus i find it weird that you can try and insult him in one post and thne ask his help in another.

Calm down mate! :P

#1. Oh really?

#2. I was making a point dumbass. It wasn't an insult. He knows what I meant. If you knew how to read, you would understand as well. I wasn't mad dude. I was jsut saying download it and look ingame considering I don't really consider an 8x8 map a great accomplishment.

#3. I would also like to point out that I was the first to make good looking maps for spring that actually had some real thought put into them instead of blurry crap. It's been a long road and every map I've made I've learned something new.

#4. There is no need for you to come in here and jsut be an ass. THat's just stupid.

@min3mat: What?

@Ice: Yah, I use a penmouse. Doesn't irritate me any less, but at least it makes doing fine details liveable. Yes we do need to talk on TS sometime.

In general, one thing that would irritate me about using bryce is the lack of detail in the textures. Don't get me wrong they look really awesome, but most of the time they don't seem to have much fine detail (like cracks, or rips in the dirt/grass/whatever) and the bumpmapping of them looks really weard at some view distances (not that all this isn't easily doable). I've been forgetting to bumpmap my textures tho. I gotta remember to do that lol. However, lately I have found even more tricks in photoshop to make a texture really shine.

Oh and BTW I stole your water settings on center rock for Resting place. I love the look of the water in center rock. It just looks cool.

Foreboding, I'm not disputing quality here, and I have seen all your maps and downloaded quite a few, but I don't like all of them, it is possible to have a quality map that you do not like for aesthetic reasons. For example I'm not very keen on desert or wasteland looking maps, such as the one seen above, however there are odd times when I see such a map and I like it a lot and insist on downloading and playing it, so i always look at in game screenshots.

Now although your past record is good, that doesn't mean that there aren't any new people here, or that we like every single one of your maps, even if we all think they're well made and good quality, highly detailed etc...
