"Half-Life 2 not required to play."
What? so they are going to ask another 60€ for it. oh for...
I do look forward to it though, would love to move along in the storyline.

I think HL2 owners get it for free, not sure though...

Episode One costs $20 (11-ish pounds for us Brits! Though Valve will proably charge us £20 too, the gits) and HL2 users don't get it for free.

Everyone knows the plot of episode one already:
Shoot zombies, Headcrabs, combines, Alyxs leg, Dog, Striders and rollermines.
In otherwords, Fun.
and at least it'll add some new stuff to Gmod. \o/

There's apparently no justice in pricing, here in Poland Earth 2160 costs 9$ (limited edition with all bells'n'whistles, they added a motion sensor, a soundtrack CD and a poster) or 6$ ("lite" game-only version), and in Germany it costs over 60$ if I remember correct. The only downside of buying it in Poland is that it's Polish version and some characters sound really stupid (to me at least)...
HL2 is nice-looking and has a great storyline, but it's extremely linear i. e. there's always only one way to push the game forward. If Valve gave us some freedom, it would make the game even better I think.
Drone_Fragger you forgot Antillions

It is rather linear, but its still very fun, and an incredible story, I wish they hadn't cut so much out.

I still think, in terms of thematic value, HL2 blows everything away.
EVERY one remembers when the first time you saw a strider, and it like wen "RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!" and started blasting everything! And then you went like "SHIT SHIT SHIT!" and then my mom started going "TURN IT THE HELL DOWN!"

zooombie...
lol....
no shit right??
I had the neighbors call the cops on me cause I had my 3000 watt stereo on it with a 57" bigscreen TV as a display..
he thought he was in a warzone, or something...
needless to say, it knocked things off the walls when things went.. "boooom"
the cop laughed his ass off when he came to the door and the "noise complaint at 3am on saturday morning wasn't a party, but 4 guys playing videogames"...

......Well verdict's out on the game for me, depends on if it's cheap. I want LathanStanley's theatre setup for sure though. 'Course, I won't get any of that store-bought stuff, except for the TV.

If Gmod becomes one of those monycost type games then I, for one, will not buy it.
Why? Because Gmod is too awsome to cost mony.
