and btw, this game is more entertaining and "good time" fun than just about any other game I've ever played... its so classic its not even funny

You bet it's fun!
I was like 4 years old when I first played it. I didn't understand a bit of the full campaign (which is, after playing it now for the last 6 months, pure genious), so I just went on to play the melee part, which was enormous fun to play against my brother.
Really, this is probably my favourite game of all time. Play it, keep playing it and love it.

Heh, I found this and played through the entire thing.

For a multiplayer melee clone of the original, check out http://timewarp.sourceforge.net/

Its really quite cool. Shame the project more or less died though.

Got this game... the fact that the intro story takes FOREVER and that I only get one life, and the fact that I saved immediately before fighting a drone which I am pretty sure I am currently too weak to kill (acctually I managed to blow up one of them with like 2 bars of health left, but another one shows up right behind it)... is really pissing me off...

I had this game a long time ago, I had to use a walkthrough to get it, but I liked it a lot. I just found it to be a hassle eventually to find bio and money

I played it quite far sometime, but once you lose your savegames and think of all the planets you have to visit again... it isn't a lot of fun anymore.

Wow, for such an old game UQM is looking like it is pretty fun. I haven't gotten too far, but I loved the encounter with the [ROT-13]Fcnguv Ryhqre ba Cyhgb[/ROT-13].
