I did too, but I kept being disconnected for some random reason that I forgot because it was 3 weeks ago.

Oh, you need an internet connection to play it. Remember not to randomly disconnect from the internet, as that may cause ping spikes.

I haven't played Subspace/Continuum it in a long time. Mostly it has been replaced by Uniball/Spring as I can run these under Linux. Trench wars and T3 were my favorite zones. Trench was great because the huge hosted events were always a blast. Also, there is nothing better than owning a warbird in my levithan 5 times in a row. I think the FF guys need to stop wasting their time and make a Subspace mod :)

I'm sorry but this is now on my list of some of the worst games ever made. Half of the players are jerks, the controls are mediocre, they seem to stick the weapon buttons just anywhere, the graphics are extremely DOS like, and there is no newb zone, even in the alpha zone pros come in just to fire at people who've only played the game for a day and don't know what they are doing, the physics are terrible, it is so unrealistic to zoom along and try to do a side shot to have a bomb come out of the side of your ship , the server keeps booting me and telling me that its no longer sending data to me for some reason,and all the zones look the same, I dont see how anyone can reccomend this.
A subspace mod? There are only 8 ships to make a mod out of, FF already had alot more then that, and they look alot better.

I would suggest that this is as a result of the fact that it's based on a DOS game. Well, more like win 95. But that's no better. I mean, if you look into the history of this game, it's bloody ancient.

And the controls aren't hard at all, don't be such a baby. There's, like, 2 buttons you need - ctrl and tab. And shift. Shoot w/ ctrl, fire missile with tab, drop mine with shift+tab. Send team messages with ' or //. And don't say the physics are bad, that's just ridiculous - this is like the only sci-fi game in the universe where stuff can't turn on a dime - last I checked THAT was realistic, not this star trek crap where stuff is all, like.... uh.... turning on a dime. And stuff.

What do you mean the players are jerks? If you're flying around complaining that the controls suck and the physics are realistic as opposed to cartoon Homeworld crap, and 30 people swoop in and kick your sorry ass into oblivion, that's just n00b stomping.... all games have that. But just think! If you stick with it, soon you'll be able to stomp noobs! That's always great fun. They're like, "how does i shoots?" and you go, "likes thisses" and then annihilate them. Great stuff.

Alpha zone sucks ass, dive into a real place like TW. I learned the game while playing on 17th parallel (back before it turned into gay-crapola-crap-crap-crap-zone-that-nobody-plays).
