arm and core balance

Post by Jools »

We would need to have a build of spads autohost for the arm, armhf and arm64 processors as well, and not just x86. This platform has increased in popularity and is a viable alternative nowadays.

The P in SPADS stands for Perl. There are no compilations and therefore no builds involved. You'd need a build of spring-dedicated for those platforms.

But since most of the servers/VPS you can rent are x86, this is a non-issue.

Right, so it's the spring dedicated that needs to be in arm. Actually, arm is very popular nowadays for servers, partly because of its low energy needs. Could it be that you like to favour american tehcnology before european in your clinging to x86?

I think this statement belongs in the '90:s :)

ARM is not very popular for servers and real ARM servers (not toy boards whose owners pretend to own servers) are hard to acquire or rent.

This accusation is outrageous coming from someone who uses both Windows and Discord

Code: Select all

410 ADDUSER [PRO]Jools FI 84842 SpringLobby 0.269 (win x32)
CLIENTSFROM gamedev ... Jools:discord ...
ARM is actually a multinational owned by a Japanese multinational called SoftBank. They also operate about the same as their "USA" multinational counterparts. The only european thing about them is that their second headquarters are in Europe. You can guess where their first headquarters are.
