Spring RTS Engine

I'm confused as of whether the alt-tab crashes spring bug [0] still exists in 0.70b2.

Also, I'd like to know for sure if the resize bug [1] is fixed in 0.70b2.

So please post here if and only if one of those bugs can still be confirmed by you. Please give OS version too and graphics card+driver version. Thanks.

i can say to you that alt-tab doesnt crash it for me. (thankfully )

alt tab bug still causes my spring to close after 10 sec of mp game(eg if i am tabbed out more than 10sec), but only when i am not host.

xp sp2, 9800xt, omega

just tested alttab bug on same pc with fresh windows. There i can alttab anytime without problem. Other windows are XPsp2 with SAME gfx drivers etc.


I also killed all processes and services on my main windows and but is still here. However, not with all hosts. So sometimes i can altab and sometimes not.

looks to me like when tabed out game doesnt send "sync" packets and server disconnects us, so spring just closes.

how can i debug this?

If you know what you are doing(I wouldn't). You can get the source from http://developer.berlios.de/svn/?group_id=4358, compile it, and then run it under a debugger.(Hope that's what you're looking for.)

well i dont want to debug it this way at start. Can i set spring engine to create some kind of "debuG" file which we can analize?

I fear the only way to get more debug info is recompiling with certain symbols defined

I already have an solution in mind (involving putting the 'old' init / exit / mouse / keyboard code back in, but it 'll takes some time (for refactoring lots of source files)

Alt-tabbin doesn't crash anymore, but sometimes the mouse in windows does act strangly when im tabbed out, like moving to the top of the screen all the sudden. And sometimes i need to click the taskbutton of spring ( you know in the taskbar) multiple times before i get back in game

I have the same problem only with addition that spring closes sometimes(not allways )

on desktop alt + tab ---> Bluescreen after a few seconds...
win xp prof sp2 9800pro athlon 64

on notebook alt + tab ---> spring crashes after a few seconds...
win xp prof sp2 x600 pentium m
