When controlling a unit from first person

It seems now whenever you control a unit from first person, the targeting courser often goes off to the side of the screen, making it difficult to target or fire at anything even right in front of you or in the case of aircraft making it difficult to even fly staight since its forcing you in that direction. Its almost like when you try to target a freindly or a tree, except everything in front of you is un targetable so it forces the target courser off to the side. I hope that explination makes sense, i also have a screen capture.

I'm with you. It is incredibly hard to pilot movable units. The turrrets, and the defenses are fine. Its a good idea, i guess it just needs some more work.

Airplanes are the worst because the view can get shifted not only left and right, but up and down. It would be nice if you could get a joystick to work. but hey, i realize that is low on the priority pole.

Yah, IMO the FPS system needs to be seirioudly reworked, it is a very nice part of spring and it has great potention to be a commercial feature.

Other than playing with it a few times, I've never found it to actually be useful. Well... I guess I did make use of it for hitting gunships with a sniper, but other than hitting fast moving targets with slow moving weapons, I think the computer is better at handling the units than a human.

This is a new bug that has come with v.70, and I've experienced it too. It usually happens with ANY unit, the aiming points straight North whenever you are aiming in the North-to-West Quadrant.

Actually I find the first person to be alot of fun, thats why the bugs is a shame since its difficult to do it now, and almost impossible in FF where it was the most fun (controlling a deathhand dreadnaught :wink: ). As you can see in the image i trained a iguana laser kbot for TLL to 3.86 exp, gaining more the 1k health on it, no easy task especially with the bug... lost it to the explosion of a commander i took out shortly after though :(

But FizWizz your description is accurate, it seems to only happen when facing NW. Any other direction seems fine.

I was so happy Caydr fixed the anni. Now It's still partiatly impossible to fps it.

You know whats even better? When your fps-ing a fighter and hit that bug, you fly sideways to the direction your looking clear off the map if you let it.
