The place to be would be #sy on quakenet. There's a small group of guys who idle #TASpring on gamesurge as well. I've available for client mod on call most of the time in both channels via my "TASadmin" highlight.

Yes, a very small group of guys in #TASpring. We are very exclusive, stay out.

and there's #taspring on FreeNode too, mostly linux people there.
