Client moderator on call

Because of the nature of TAS client adminship the vast majority of the time there isn't a mod sitting around watching the #main channel. Mods have lifes too, and even if we just spend them mostly infront of the computer having a chat window open as our primary program of focus is expecting a little too much. However, all is not lost.

For the time being until client has some better admin on call structures coded into it I'm offering my services as your dedicated moderator on call. Lamers in #main? Just give me a PM and I'll pause whatever I'm in and come deal with it. Additionally if you are idling IRC somewhere you can reach me virtually anywhere from #TASpring on gamesurge or #sy on quakenet. I've got it so that "TASADMIN" (without the quotes you nub) will highlight me with a loud obnoxious sound so even if I'm not acctually sitting at the computer I can hear you if I'm in the near vacinity (unless it's night time when I have my headphones plugged in to not wake up the rest of the house). Really the IRC one is better because it's a more recognizable sound and it works even when I'm in HL/HL2 servers, wheras normal TAS notifications don't.

Also if you set up a Client channel and you've got a couple users idling it then feel free to bug me to set up a topic message for you... just don't alert me with my admin call just to set topics, topic setting can wait, lamers I'm willing to deal with immediately.

Other client mods willing to help me out with this feel free to idle #TASpring and #sy and set up the admin call highlight as well.

NOTE:
Guys seriously this is a CLIENT moderator. NOT a GAME moderator. Don't come crying with "OMG he combombed ban him" etc.
(unless you want to be laughed at.)

I'd be willing to moderate for in game stuff too... but don't waste my time subbmitting demos of people comm bombing eachother or what not, that stuff isn't against comunity rules even if it's really bad player form. Strickly hackers if you catch them.

I know this might sound dumb, but I connected to a the quakenet server I found online and #sy and #TASpring didn't exist (8:51AMEST,Feb23rd).

What is the acctual server you are on, I tried clanservers.nj.us.quakenet.org

netfire.va.us.quakenet.org did work at least for #sy

I'm connected through netfire.va.us.quakenet.org, but you should have access to all the quakenet channels through any quakenet server...

#TASpring is on gamesurge not quakenet, so try that if you can't get quakenet to work. To my knowledge quakenet wasn't down recently, it should still work :?

Moderators on call? Swifty... do we have a number we can call incase of a spamming emergency in lobby?
:)

.....10 years ago, a crack moderator group was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didnt commit...these men promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade into the cyber underground of an rts community called taspring, today still wanted by the government they survive as mods of fortune!
If you have a spamming problem... and no one else can help... and if you can find them... maybe you can hire... the spring mod team!!

que the -A- team theme tune - daaaa dada, dada daaaaaa....

I find your familiarity with the A-Team almost as shocking as your being English and butchering the language. oO

Murdoc with the jetpack ftw. They really need to model an AK after him. >>;

I've implemented keyword highlightning combined with notifications in the next version, this will hopefully aid in "mod on call" thing.
