Because of the amount of flames on the forum lately, we have decided to add a few moderators to the forum.
I have added SwiftSpear and more will follow soon.

You picked one of the most in need of moderation as the first moderator?

Mother, if you want to say something about me or complain then PM me. It's up to zaphod in the end, but I'd personally prefer moderator decisions not to be up to public discussion, and that includes who is chosen to be moderator.

I don't belive I am one of the members on this forum most in need of moderation.

I know you don't, you said as much just yesterday in a thread you were disrupting- but that doesn't change the fact.

Not to offend you but you're one of the people renowned for jumping into threads and being disruptive. I don't think that is what makes one a good choice for moderator.

It infact seems like some bizarrely bad joke.

I wonder if you would say that if someone you don't like had been selected.

Dude, discuss it all you want, I'm just saying it's not a public topic. PM Zaphod or the person you have a problem with if you have complaints about an admin. Zaphod could admin virtually anyone and I probably wouldn't complain, but if I had a complaint I would PM him. It's bad form to try to smear someone's name publicly, even if you just don't like them.

Being disruptive is really too vague imo.
Fact is, this forum needs moderators badly, and I have a feeling that there will always be people against me adding some particular person.

If swiftspear disbehaves we can always de-moderator him. However if you look at his past posts, you see that he has refrained from flaming and is posting constructive criticism most of the time.

Moderating is not supposed to be very partial either, just closing flame threads and moving thread to the right forum and such things... you're still allowed to disagree with him so it's not such a big change either ;)

Swiftspear from what I've seen has been an exemplary poster and I'm glad some new mods have been added. Theres an odd amount of flaming in this board, and they start for very minute reasons. I just dont respond to flames myself, its always wiser to ignore juvenile triviality and just post about the game you love.

Is there a list of mods/admins somewhere?

For forum mods it's me zaphod and betalord ATM... I've been told that more will be added soon. There is a good few client mods. A few more were added recently, and I'll be added as well.

For the record.
SwiftSpear doesnt seem like the most obvius choice to me either.

and i agree with mother about he being disruptive many times. (an that is not minor imo).

But that has nothing to do with mod capacity, as he may be mistaken but is not a flammer.

I hope he can give more tougth to his posts in the future and he is very welcome as a moderator, as we need them.

edit: i know is not up to us decide who is admin or not, but i think our opinion must be at least heard.

I can't say I was expecting an invite to be mod myself, but I am dedicated to this comunity and am more then willing to put the time in to help it in any way I can.

Zaphod, I hate to be rude, but SwiftSpear is not a good choice. He has a habit of thinking he knows all, and bashing others. Yeah everyone has there anger moments, but SwiftSpear was allways rude. Zaphod Just make sure you have the input from the community when selecting such moderators.

However, I am will to consent if SwiftSpear is willing to clean up his behavior and cut the consent negativity to reflect what the role of an admin on this form is. If he will do this everyone will be happier.

I may be wrong especially because, many times, i surf the forums fast to cut time, but SwiftSpear doesn't looks like a bad choice to me.

Also, keep in mind that the pressure of having the extra responsibility of a moderator is bound to make him behave more moderated.

SwiftSpear, beeing you a good choice to moderator or not based on the past, it is to the future i set my eyes on and may your future reign prosperous among us, the unruly masters of all flames, also known as the Spring comunity.

Maby being too popular would be a bad thing for the position, has anyone considered that? I mean after all I basicly have to tell people that they need to reword or shutup over and over and over until they learn thier lesson. Not everyone is going to love that...

I'm going to do my best to make sure no one gets picked on, but zaphod hired me to clean up the flaming and that I intend to do.

It's not like we can't remove him later.

I wouldn't mind being a mod! *Dances around!* I'm pretty fair, and nice. I've been in the community a while and I don't take sides. :o

I think no one will mind being a mod.
If Zaphod choose SwiftSpear, he had his reasons. I don't think Swift will go bad now. He'll be good ^.^

And Mods can bring more order to the forum, they really can.

Oh, they're everywhere, but I think they can be summed as, "don't be a fucker."
