The last few days my spring install has gone kaboom but so has the one on ym stepdads computer.

The onyl change I've amde to my stepdads comptuer has been to add a map or two, and on both systems when i try to load any game or replay with XTA I get error messages saying the engine cant load certain files such as GUI sounds etc then crashes.

Ok I figured that fi i run spring directly I cna do what I want but if I handwrite the script and feed it into spring, or use SpringSP todo it then it spits it out and starts throwing errors again.

He is helping himself :-)

thats odd Alantai, i wonder if its not another ntai dirty strategy :p

very odd...

like scripts "handed" to your spring get screwed..

i guess there is no difference in the script themselves.

and playing sdf (replays) gives you the same error, so its not any of the other aplications (like springsp) causing some problem with spring....

Do you have any of those firewalls that get suspicious about aplication "behaviours"?

maybe someone answered the wrong thing when prompted..

When a problem is solved, it is always usefull to come here and post the solution so people learn from it. Even if it was the very same person with the problem that found the solution.

mwha, I was playign with no internet with no lobby, just manual spring.exe (which worked but onyl XTA), SpringSP (I could play AA 1.2 & TLL 1.04 fine but most else failed).

So I cleared out my mods folder leaving only XTA, XTA Pimped Edition and AA 1.42, and my troubles are over ^_^
