Re: Springlobby connect window improvements
I should tick the "remember me" box if I want to be remembered, or it could be enabled by default, but should still be visible (else people won't know it exists)
League of legends has the "remember me" checkbox on the login screen.

Re: Springlobby connect window improvements
Yeah, and all phones had keypads until the iPhone. No, I think I see the necessity of a remember me checkbox now. But I do agree it should be default. I mean, if we get the settings looking neat ((OH and: Is it possible to add a mac-specific keybind to Settings of command+comma? Is that possible in wxwidgets)) It could be moved in there, so the option still exists, but it really does need to exist and be accessible.League of legends has the "remember me" checkbox on the login screen.
Re: Springlobby connect window improvements
Again, remember me will default to on. I also want the remember me checkbox to be hidden unless the lobby is in button lover mode. If it is in said mode, then the checkbox would be placed somewhere on the login and register screens and not buried in preferences.
Re: Springlobby connect window improvements
It's generally much more important that logging out also forgets you
Re: Springlobby connect window improvements
Why? Logging out would just set autoconnect to false for the current session. That means the connect window would come pre-filled with current nickname and password.

Before I turn into a wet blanket... Is Thinksome an active SL developer?

Is the grass greener on the other side?
Re: Springlobby connect window improvements
Better, but here are my suggestions:
- The form should be bigger and slightly less packed
- The text links should be grouped below the password field
- I don't like the visual appeal of "Spring lobby login". I think I'd prefer [SpringRTS Icon] in the corner and just "Login" text in the center. Hard to say without trying..

Re: Springlobby connect window improvements
Yes, definitely better. However:
- What is a case where the cancel button would be used?
- Agree with gajop, definitely needs more space between things.
- Obviously a login window, so prefer an icon than restating information? At least make "Spring lobby login" -> "SpringLobby Login".
- Disagree with gajop, I like the text links below their respective text box. To me it's more intuitive and more neat, since ideas are grouped together. :)

Re: Springlobby connect window improvements
Cancel is there because there is no other close button, at least I don't have it on tiling window manager. Plus its a standard dialog button box. Vertical spacing is now set to 10 instead of default 6.

D'awww don't be so jelly of my artistic skills :D
It was the least weird of the weird fonts gimp offered to me (eufm10). If anyone wants to make a nicer one then by all means do it.

Re: Springlobby connect window improvements
Haha, it's starting to have personality! I'm liking it!
Re: Springlobby connect window improvements
It's nice that the login popup shows the spring logo. Why not springlobby logo?
probably because of something

Re: Springlobby connect window improvements
Well maybe because you are logging in to the spring lobby? Its not springlobby lobby. Plus I liked it the most of any I could find in my local catalog.
And yet none of the replacement logos you provided had anything to do with machines, planets or war. Let me quote Picasso from there:
AlsoSpring - the bowling simulator.
Backgrounds should also be possible, but would be hard to properly design due to font scaling.
Re: Springlobby connect window improvements
here's another Picasso quote:
Springlobby could use the same logo as the engine while a suitable replacement isn't found. No, springlobby needs a change. That cellphone, smiley reeks of amateurism. Just admit it.
It looks like a tax-deducting app had sex with a chat-app.
If you dont like what i post - that's fine. Then get a different artist. But get him.

Still no machines, planets or war.
