If you were Canadian, who would you have voted for today (if you are candadian, who would you have voted for if all parties were available in your riding).

NDP, Reason: Voting for green marajuana or any of the other parties I would probably want would be a wasted vote. Liberals are overcomfortable and corrupt, they've been running the country for 12 years and they like the way things are going. I personally think canada needs alot of work. Liberals won't put the work in. Conservitives are pretty strong for the winners circle. I don't really trust harper and I'm worried about who he's going to piss off... At least they will do something new for the country, which is better then the liberals can say, but I'm not sure we need a strong conservitive leader at this point in time. America/bush nazis have my rightwing senses spooked. Jack layton is a shady character, but he's lent support to BCers in the past and he won't screw over all the good stuff the liberals did like homo marriage and legalized pot. I think he could do the job of bringing some new life into canada without forcing us to give up and of the freedoms we've been voting for for so long. Canada isn't a christian melting pot, a liberal stance on life management isn't hurting anyone.

Yeah, well at least it isn't like the U.S, where it seems you are either a republican or a terrorist sympathizer

Well, I voted green, so they get my $1.75 a year in funding, but my riding elected an NDP, which I am very happy with.

Oh, they're all lowering taxes of course. I abstain, they're all a bunch of crooks and I'll have no part of it.

Though the US technically has a lot of parties, there are really only two (mediocre) possibilities, as everyone knows. So how many of those parties are truly viable candidates?

I like how the Libertarian Party of Canada is winning among votes cast for a party at the moment... libertarianism ftw! Taxes = theft = sucks.

Yeah... It is Libertarians who think 'Taxes = Theft'.
Sweden is extremely 'lucky' that it has a small homogenus population... One of the 2 biggest reason that 'more taxes'
does not = 'More free stuff' doesn't apply as strongly.
You guys generally want the same things from the government... So the government tends to spend its stolen money

on things that you generally want/need. The fact that socialism works better in small like-minded groups isn't really that extraordinary when you think about it.
BTW did you guys know that Sweden has about the same population as
New Jersey and Canada is about that of
New York and
New Jersey combined?
