Chili Visual Novel

Draw anime babes, make anime babes move around and talk, etc.
Might be useful for people doing missions or even a singleplayer campaign (though it's not really recommended for the latter at present).

Github

Currently supports most of the basics: adding text, images and background, playing sounds and music, move and fade in/out animations.
Full list of actions documented here

Controls: Click somewhere in screen (anywhere overlapping the background image) to advance. Right-click hides/shows GUI. Hold down Ctrl to fast forward.

Current limitations:
  • Image → image transitions are basically unsupported and have to be done manually. Fancy transition types (blur, dissolve, etc) don't exist at all.
  • Save/load in its current state is only really useful for debugging. Only one save is allowed per "story", there's no dialog for choosing save directory/path, etc.
  • There's no indicator for auto-advance mode.
  • No custom screens or i18n support (yet).
I may or may not use this for ZK, depending on how gajop's lobby plan turns out.

Interesting stuff.
For those lazy to try it out, I've made a demo video (https://youtu.be/a_elA1Qre_k) and added a minor animation with a locally modified version of chilifx.
