Flying Buildings - Help Needed

Hi,
I have been working on an idea I have had for a while now, and that is to make a level 3 branch for TA that allows the user to build buildings that fly above the landscape. I am already working on models and I have got the idea set out fine, but its getting it working thats the problem.
Flying Air Base - Level 3 aircraft plant
Now I knew there would be problems getting it to work in OTA, so I have decided to get it working in spring first.
My general idea is that all of these buildings are infact aircraft, that are build by a con unit on land (using units building units). These would then take off and be able to do what they do.
The problem comes when I want to make this factory work.
So I was wondering. Is it possible for a unit to build a unit, In spring, but build it at a pad xyz? So in effect this would be an aircraft, but it would act like a factory.
If that isn't possible, then what about this. Is it possible to move the groundplate (and hence the unit) into the air, and have the green selection square follow it. So you don't have to select the ground its hovering over.
These have been my main problems getting it working in OTA, so surely spring can do these 2 things.

units can build untis in spring, the problem si they build them in the same way as TA:K. We've requested we have a tag to change this to make them work like a mobile factory btu to no avail as of yet. If I get the time I'll look into it but I doubt I'll have any tiem for that for months.

Thats a shame, because I am sure that the engine should be able to know. If I remember correctly, in TA script, cons and factories both use similar scripts. But there is some part that you give the value of the construction pad. i.e variable=pad;
Its a shame that spring can't tell if that =0 or pad. If it did, then buildings could build like units (i.e 0) and units could build like buildings (i.e pad)

Where may I find this carrier, as I have searched, but have no idea where to look.

the protoss carrier is a unit from Starcraft. i was a large ship that (with all upgrades) unleashed 8 small drone fighters taht swarmed teh target. some people considered them the end all be all weapon in the game (i prefer something a little more sneaky: 10 nukes+10 Ghosts=BOOOOM!!!)
though in order for that to work the unit would have to build the units, ie drones, inside itself and then load and unload the drones it builds as necessary

I found nukes to be a dissipointment in nearly every game.
Now planet busters from alpha centauri... what a happy suprise.
Anyway, could it be possible to make a unit that would rocket up to the maximum highth, slowly hover over to the enemy base, and start cranking out and dropping crawling bomb type unit that explodes from the fall damage?
Orbital bombardment platforms FTW!

it would be so much simpler to give them really low velocity ballistic weapons.

That doesn't really help me if this carrier has nothing to do with Spring or TA.
Any suggestions for solving my problem.
The Flying air base can either be an aircraft or building, but they require different things in order to work.
Btw, the orbital bombardment platform is on my list, but as something else. An antimatter satellite, that fires a massive beam of antimatter at a target giving a very big boom.

It shows what it actually looks like ingame, and highlights the problems that I have got. Thats why I would like to make it in spring, but it seems that even Spring doesn't do what I need.

I know about those. I was one of the first people Z showed. Although they work, I don't want to have to force people to build the factory, then build something else to make it fly. That defeats the object, and there are restrictions, like the factory can't have build queues.
If no other solutions present them selves, then I will consider using it.
