by the way, anyone know if you can reverse time in a replay if you pass by an event and want to go back and record it?

You can't. You spectate a game that is being litteraly replayed. There is no way to reverse a game.

So, nobody has any TA videos they want to post here, eh?

Most people post the video directly when they've made one, not wait for you to make a thread for them

i will post any
crappy record i make and feel worths it here

. (there are 15, not 10).
I do it here bc they dont worth a thread on its own... are like .. short unedited records.
what zaphod says makes sense, but for more edited / worked ones.
mine are just raw.

Well, I once made a trailer thingy.
It consists of more non-spring things then spring.
(And the ingame shots are choppy)
but still...

How do you get the video function to work?
every time I try to record a video (during a replay of a good game) all of the commanders build stuff for like 30 seconds and then they just stand there.
when they build labs and plants, the labs/plants just sit there.
and I have tried every single format that appears on the little list.
do I have to use third party software?

Odd, I never had troubles with the inbuild video capture.
You could use Fraps:

I found it somewhat easyer in use.

unless I buy it, I can only record 30 seconds with Fraps.
What I plan to do is record an entire game, and then decide when I'm building the video which parts I'll cut out.

Ok, I made a video.
It is basically the overview of a game I had with GimliNL on CometCatcher.
I have a crappy graphics card and 256 MB of RAM, so no shadows or reflections or dynamic clouds.
But it still looks cool.
Next I'm going to record clips from at least 2 other games, and then compile them all into a trailer.

P.S. I'm green

can anyone tell me how to chase aircraft like some of the other videos here? I know about using the T button to track them, but that only works if your camera is above them. If you zoom in too close your camera goes inside the unit.

Doens't it work with the FPS camera instead of the "TA Style" camera?

It would be nice if the ingame video recorder could do uncompressed frames properly. :/

It does... at least in a way.
Install hufuvy, it works without problems, and is lossless.
OTOH, the 4GB limit is a serious problem, so how about changing the AVI interface to support openDML?
