Woot! pre-child steps!!

Its an ugly-as your butt hack instead of 100% working AI but hey it plays okay on metal maps (never, ever crashes, rock solid stability if a bit laggy (closestbuildsite's fault))!
Here are some screenies taken yday playing against humans:

Kai attacks and screws up the enemy power supply and mexes :)

you got off lightly in that game with it not building lvl2 at all for some strange reason, else the gollies/guardians/doomies would have ended that game earlier :P

remembet that KAI's had handicap 50 :wink:

and i did it in porc way... i coulda rushed and killed them both pretty easily...
i gave em change by porcing

right im back, had fun but im shattered, been travelling in and out of aiports for the past 36 hours and had 2.5 hours sleep before starting this trip (3.30 AM local time).
I got to revise for my exams now so i wont develop KAI much, except maybe try to do the final optmization of the metal class. With all the time i had to travel without sleep i planned a LOT of stuff in detail, which will help once i get coding again!

Its actually more fun to win with my AI than by myself, very especially when its me and KAI vs 2 players. Just KAIs playing is getting really boring now coz people underestimate it or suck too much. dont think anyone below 3 chevs has yet beaten the lastest version even in fair terms (same number of AIs and players and no handicap), so you are good for testing since you kill it a lot easier :o

Anyhow, masse we will have a rematch very soon (i tweaked stuff since last time!)! No handicap this time either :P

haahaa... so you think KAI can handle this :P its good that ur back ! i have been so bored without you ! i need a match agaist KAI... i just am so bored to play agaist humans :wink:

well last time i tried your KAI it was against 2 of em without handicap on metalheck and it was quite hard!
so dont underestimate it :-) !!

you are right and i didnt try it with another map since krogothe was hosting and i dont have the .dll but its quite nice already.
i was almoust getting squashed with both of them.
i gotta try the other ai's in the same manner so that i can make a comparison.

u can't compare the other AIs really
AAI needs a LOT of time
NTAI is nowhere near complete, and the stable (^-^) test builds are going to take some time to fix the code

KAI works 100% fine on non-metal maps, but since all you guys played so far was some quickly put-together code to test some paradigms, i havent fixed a crash bug when it tries to build a mex on top of yours, which is closestbuildsite's fault (source of pretty much all KAI problems, like the lag with 3+ AIs in late game). It will be the first thing to be removed!
Its all getting replaced with real code. I had fun pitting KAIs vs humans but its time to get work done (once i finish my exams).
If my tests go well, expect a much smarter KAI in all aspects (and crash free on ALL maps and not just metal)!

I do have a gripe with the lack of some interface calls, and the fact that it appears that cheating doesnt work for the AI (at least for getting units), which will significantly slow down testing of some more advanced features...

Expect a new KAI version in a month or two, with few open tests (probably none). While you wait play the other AIs, they might crash but theyre great!
