Unoffical mod, AA+TLL

This is old, see the latest post...
For all those who love the TLL race and love the AA mod, or all those who love AA mod, and want another race to kill; Behold ANOTHER MOD, this time based on lovely AA. The Lost Legacy, which was another race, i tried to balance into AA. However TLL, not all units are accurate to your favorite race in TLL 1.4 which may be a downfall of my mod. I already tested it with a friend and it seems rather playable until later in the game.
So here is what is complete..
ALL level 1 units except the minelayer...
ALL level 2 units except the level 2 construction units and V pulsers.
ALL level 1 unit defensive structures such as Telsa towers
Things that need work..
Level 2 planes except advanced fighter and advanced bomber work properly
Level 2 or Advanced Construction Units do not build level 2 structures.
V pulse weapons do not exsist yet, neither does mine layer..
MOST IMPORTANT:
None of the sea units have been even touched, so stay away from the water maps people, live on the land.
This is currently in the beta form so will only be in the AA S style, no tech forge style yet.
THERE WILL BE THESE FILES ON FILE UNIVERSE TO BE DOWNLOADED, if i can submit them all....
Patch files: This is the smallest file, which will only need updates for your mod

Data files: Once you download these, youll never download these again

WHAT YOU NEED TO DO:
Be annoying and tell me every little thing you think is not balanced or cooler ideas about a certain unit so i can do somthing about it.

1. Have you asked caydr? Don't piss him off, or I will kick your ass.

I remember something about him having no internet for a month, so if you can't contact him, suspend development, please. Last time someone played with AA, he almost abandonded spring.
2. Do all the texture fit into the limited texture space?
3. Is it based on the latest AA for spring?
4. Sounds good, as soon as I have a windows machine i'll start play testing it.

Yes unless Caydr said: "sure go ahead you can make it" I would stop.
Just keep developing it with friends and hope he says yes but dont put it up for public download.

It dosen't matter what he says this is a dumb idea. TLL still has lots of work to do, and you would have to completely rework all the unit stats for TLL. My opion, theres way too many tweak/hack mods right now.... And nowhere near the volume of unit addon mods to standard TA.

Areed, don't play with cadyr's stuff, ever. Not that I don't like the prospect of TLL and AA combined, just that it should probably be done by NoiZe and Caydr if it's going to get done.

Your right, Infact i do not even know Caydr, and i did not ask him, so i asked Storm to take the links down, or even if somone else can, ill be happy, because i want to play this game safe. I did not know somone got him really pissed screwing around with AA but i do not know if he had a purpose or not but ill let Caydr and the creators of TLL get all the credit they deserve. but for right now ill wait till Caydr says somthing about this. If Caydr wants it to cease, I will stop all of it, end of story. If Caydr says ok, as long as you stay to these terms, ok, ill stay to these terms.

Yes they do, although it is very close since i found obsolete textures that are only used for the ta engine, i was shocked to find more than atleast 500 textures in both TLL and AA that were not used, which added up to 4 megabytes of trash.
3. Is it based on the latest AA for spring?
This is based entirely on AA, it is untouched, the only thing i might of done is changed the Armor.txt to add TLL units into the strategy of warfare. Every version would use the latest version of AA, so if AA 1.5 came out, i could easily imply AA 1.5 to AATLL with the way its setup.
4. Sounds good, as soon as I have a windows machine i'll start play testing it.
Dont worry about it, no reason to test it now, it could be stopped at this moment so dont waste breathe, its at a halt in production of works.

Frankly i could care less about any ones opinion, but you dont have to play it either Yes TLL has rather has lots of work to do, but i think its worth it, and its actually easier than you think because i can follow AA's backbone of already balanced units. I know what you think about hack/tweak mods right now, i hate it to, but dont put it on my shoulders and make me sound like a criminal, i had nothing to do with those.

I guess i am playing with Cadyr's stuff just adding a new race, but i have not even touched one core or arm unit, it is basicly the same AA you would know with TLL. your right, NoiZe or Caydr would be the right people to get it done.

now with your question. I have the minelayer, just not put in yet because i have to shrink it and put a minesweep missle launcher on it. the TLL shaman is already in there to counter the necro, and the to counter the arms rezzer aswell.
I will wait to find an oppurtunity to talk to Caydr and if he says no or yes, thats okay with me. Im not doing this mod for any credit anyway, I want to do this for fun and for the fun of everyone else.

Go ahead and make the mod, doesn't bother me. When you get all the units together and working, I might add it as a mutator or something to the official release.

I think the source of the original AA Spring argument wasn't the use of Caydr's work (since AA is built on other people's work) but the fact that it was presented as-is, buggy, embarassing to AA. Caydr wanted to port to Spring himself, and somebody else was coming with a POS hack called AA for Spring.
I'm sure if you reused his labour but didn't call it AA and made it different enough not to be confused with AA, he wouldn't freak out (much).

Well, from what I've heard, this mod sounds AWSOME. I've been waiting for something like this for ages. Noruas, you are a legend. I'm really happy it's TLL being ported, because it's a really well done, professional looking race. Can't wait for the first non-beta version to be out!

Im working on it... Its going to take some more time, to make you feel better, i will post this reply. I still cannot use AA raw data because it still has alot of unused textures that makes it impossible for tll to squeeze in at less than 2048 by 2048. I am willing to give only used AA Textures Only to Caydr if hes interested, I will give him a pure folder of useful textures to him. Then i wouldnt have to worry about updating the AA section, and just use it as a child file for data, this would save me alot of time, download time, and make a perfect clean update straight from the file itself making perfection.

If you convert to the new model format, .s3o, the 2048x2048 texture limit doesn't apply. Thought that might help.

Yes, if he converted every unit. If he just converted the few units that used the most new textures, he could free up some space on the .3do texture square.

there was something abaut crossusing the 2 formats... and u shouldnt mix them in same mod...
