Due to some rather annoying things that have surfaced, involving popular mods being in .rar as well as maps, and .sd7 not being liked by linux, and others getting cranky because of someone taking too much time, I propose, or better yet, I would like to see all future content for Spring ziped properly into .sdz files(Renamed zip files).

So how many people will commit today to changing this and obiding by a standard?

sd7 is just 7zip, and you can get 7zip for about 5 different linux versions.

And sdz sucks.

TA 3D is right that 7z was previously not very practical to use in an application... but I understand that this recently changed with 7zip getting new functionality. Fnordia has written a different sd7 handler which is now usable in linux too if I understand correctly.
