did u try updating gfx driver as infolog says ?
[f=0000000] Error: This stack trace indicates a problem with your graphic card driver. Please try upgrading or downgrading it. Specifically recommended is the latest driver, and one that is as old as your graphic card. Make sure to use a driver removal utility, before installing other drivers.
Other Windows AMD users may have more info to help you if it wont help, e.g. use --safemode

Either:
1) Run "spring.exe --safemode" from a command line & let us know if that works for you
2) Get a working gfx driver, as the infolog says

Any of those settings make my Spring crash with AMD + Catalyst 14.4 :
3DTrees = 1
AdvMapShading = 1
AdvUnitShading = 1
ReflectiveWater = 4
GroundDecals = 1
Shadows = 1
Make sure you have this in your springsettings.cfg :
3DTrees = 0
AdvMapShading = 0
AdvUnitShading = 0
ReflectiveWater = 2
GroundDecals = 0
Shadows = 0

In your latest pastebin, you are not using safemode.
Long term solution: I went through three ATI/AMD cards, all had problems like this - bugs in drivers, crashes in catalyst control center... eventually I decided never to buy ATI/AMD again and I've not had one single issue with the NVidia cards since.

Safemode does not disable
shadows and
grounddecals which make the game crash with ATI.

it does

why has the safemode value of Shadows and GroundDecals nothing set then? does an other value disable them automaticly? (i guess it could be 3DTrees...?!)

I took time to test each of the params that lead to spring crash with my ATI. Safemode DOES NOT WORK with default springsettings. You just come here to provide wrong information without any source being arrogant as usual. You help nobody.

tried all the configs like the ones you all posted last night still no luck
I think your right about this being a ati problem.
thing is it only fucks up with this game and since everything else runs fine and i like ati no way i am going to switch to nvidia.
weirdly enough a couple of weeks ago i loaded up spring on two other amd/ati systems i have here and they where fine, ill have to check them see what the problem is.

Hi dude,
I use Ati with no issues..
Perhaps make an image of your C:/ drive then try a fresh windows or linux install..?
What Ati card you running ?
Just to check you mentioned you did fresh portable did you copy maps n mods n settings across from other spring folder ?
Attached my springsettings for you to try..

Thanks, this config file works.
Ever since I updated to the latest 14.4 driver, the "safe" settings doesn't work, nothing works, so I stopped playing the game.
I do not know why this config file works but if I edit the settings via "Test Spring", even if I didn't change any settings, Spring will stop working. It appears that the default settings that got appended to the config file caused the game to stop working.

Nice to hear you got it working, it is configured for maximum speed so I suggest just play and be happy :)

This sounds interesting because it is so specific. Could you compare the config file before and after just saving the settings? Perhaps pastebin the contents?
