As of v7.35, the whole thing is fair game now. There are a ton of old evo model/texture assets (Remember, the whole of evo has been remodeled somethign like 4 times - first time was bad, we don't count it) in there that people might be interested in.

All the original license was meant to protect was models and textures anyway. The rest was always fair game.

Does this affect EvoRTS maps?

No, only artwork actually. Any maps I have done have always been gpl/pd/whatever (and I'm sorry if that wasn't clear).

To further clarify... All artwork and basically stuff that is non-code is CC-by-SA. As per the spring engine license, all code must be and most definitely is GPL or whatever compatible license the author has specified in the header of the file.

I gathered that there was some backlash about it.

Think about it this way, unless otherwise specified, the file in question in evo is CC-by-SA.

So if you're looking at luaz, in the header it usually says gpl or sommat like that. That designation supersedes anything else.

Hopefully that is clear enough.
