Need blender help - split model

I would like to ask someone with blender or similar to split this .obj model into an exact 1/8th pizza slice please. Wings is choking on a file this large, I figured I can work with 1/8th part then mirror them back when I need the rest. 300k tris.

Oh and if anyone is interested in a speedball remake collaboration, this is the thread:)

My Hexfarm was intented as the one map to replace all speed balls.

Though I haven't implemented the shapes with balls and bridges of different sizes because I couldn't decide between hard coding some specific layouts, or trying to come up with a way to add them to the procedural randomness while still looking nice and never creating degenerate cases.

Knife tool is your friend, unless it also chokes on vertex spam.

If that occurs, try the boolean modifier for substracting a sufficiently spacious cube from the offending mesh.

Then apply, rotate, rinse, repeat.

I have 0 knowledge of blender and the learning curve seems very steep :(

Still, softer than dwarf fortress, but sometimes google is your friend.

I'm not on smartphone anymore, and there are no fingerprints in the deep nine space

So if you seek vengeance, all you need are instruments of pain

You'll need your
1) Knives, check

2) Boolean modifier, check

3) And rotation (check) (or just enter konami code R-Z-45 after you do the first cutout)

Thinking a bit over it, the Boolean will probably be cheapest.

While trying to see if I could help, I made a more manageable version in wings3D; many parts deleted and scaled to 10%. Might be of use...
