Well yes and no... you can't just rip OTA mods straight to spring, there is some coversion work to do, albeit not too much.
What I'm asking for is some cool high res images of the units in spring where they will look about 5000000 times cooler then they look sitting a good distance away from the camera on the poorly rendered TA screen.

I am not working on that!
Currently Talon is a race for TA. It isn't made for Spring at all! For instance, TheRegisteredOne made a sleek GUIs for TA, which is useless in Spring. Yesterday I made 64x64 BuildPics/*.gaf for all units, but nearly all 96x96 /UnitPics/*.pcx are lacking. And Spring use the up, not the bp, for the buildmenu. As far as I know the unit weren't properly tested and debugged for Spring. And there's nor armor.txt, no unpacking of textures, no modinfo.txt, etc...
Because I took me so much time to make all the 64x64 buildpics, I don't want to make the 96x96 unitpics. And I won't even try Talon in Spring, not even just to make shiny screenshot, as long as the little images don't show in the buildmenus.
I don't like the orientation the Talon race is taking
(basically, it's like:
<zwzsg> What about giving the commander a throne and a bike that would give him special ability when he sits on? What about making cheap low tech very slow floating defense orbs? What about letting me script "upgrades" and teleportation all over Talon units? What about making it completly different from every other race?
<Storm> Talon is going to be completely differently from Arm and Core, since we'll give the samson a +20% range increase.
), and I have already 19374685 TA or Spring related project going on, so I don't plan on working on porting Talon to Spring anytime soon.
What TheRegisteredOne is trying to tell is "Hey I've making this cool TA race, wanna help? Needs more models". Little does he know there is much less modellers here than on
TAU.

Ahem we onyl recognise the following AI's here:

We have no AI that goes bythe name "The OTA AI".
I think the factorys look plain and simplish, no detail at all...... I just dotn get the feel of the race as to what sort of people the talon are or what they like be it big strong weapons or agility or heavy armour etc.. It's just a race, there's nothing about it.....
And honestly if you're just gonna do the OTA version and not be bothred with sprign then shame on you. Spring is the future, dont get stuck int he past =(

with an ota version done, it is easy to get started on a spring version. but since OTA entertains a larger audience, we'll do it first.

that's your opinion. simple models renders better in ota than complex ones. maybe for spring, we will redo some of the models. as for the comment on the race, strong weapons and armour has been taken by the core, agility and speed is taken by the arm, talon will be high tech, and map intelligence. which we haven't started yet.

Very cool modeling, there are some detail i didnt apreciate much.
1. You need original textures to make the Race more Unique then it is and wich gives even more value to ones work.
2. The Race looks to much like a Human technology wich the TLL already has taken comand of. Try making it look like it has exposed parts or computers on it , like a race that is still on evolution but still able to show power.
3. The submarines are to flat and square, try making them abit more round. It would take hours for a sub like that to start to realy get to move.
4. Leave the logo color parts on the main body part of the unit and try using textures with hydrolic details on the wings.
5. Your commander is great but i think he could get on a diet... Try making the upper part of his Torso larger instead of the lower one, that expresses tougthness and power.
Other then that the race is great and you got good talent on modeling. Hope to see it some day on both Normal and Spring versions of TA.
Keep up to good work and dont give up on your Race. Improvements are always welcome and perfection takes time.

Less is possible with OTA then is possible with spring, and some OTA things aren't spring possible yet, so by building a race that is compatable to both OTA and spring you are essentially boxing yourself in alot with what kind of new things you can do. More people play spring then OTA now anyways.
I personally love the look of the units, they have a very stylized feel that really wasn't taken advantage of by either arm or core in OTA. I guess some backstory would be nice for people who are suspention of disbelife impared, but I really like the race.

most tll's textures were not created by the people who made tll, it was made by a person named tangora, and since tll never use the texturing scheme or many of the same textures this race uses, i really don't see a problem, heck i have even made my own textures for specific units in this race.

this race is an ancient faction of the human race.
Other then that the race is great and you got good talent on modeling. Hope to see it some day on both Normal and Spring versions of TA.
no one modelled this race all by himself, it was the collective effort of many many modellers at tauniverse.com
