So i guess i stared it already.
The goal:
-a tile turnbased Tabletop for Hardcore Gamers
-100% free data and the right for everyone to trade the 2d or 3d printed objekt (as Figures, RuleBook) as pysical objekt.

i hope to all small printterservices, fablabs and other groups something to trade with and having a great game at the end.

update 11012014
------
added Zero-k Units zero-k.info for having great kbots
------
This is just the start.

see github.com 3D_Tabletop_Balanced_Anihilation

i guess i take the models from evolution rts because there is a gnu on it. see https://code.google.com/p/evolutionrts/

see a prestudy on http://www.thingiverse.com/mekmekmek/designs
so its possible.

can anyone say me under what licenes the ba models are?

Love the DSD for playing board :D

Have you printed it yet?

no in 1;1 it would be much to big. the prints on thingiverse are 1:1, but i just tried some 1:2 making good results.
The problem now is that a 6X8 Map in 1:4 take about a normal desk. DSD is 20x10.

You can use any of the evo models/artwork for this. Its all on the verge of going cc by sa anyway.

That's it. I'm going and buying a 3d printer... NAO!

My evo units would look so cute like that!

These little guys look great. Can they be painted with or without a primer?

Neat idea :-)

Is it difficult to transfer the spring models to printer models (I have to admit that I have basically no clue about 3D modelling)?
This would also make a great birthday gift for fellow players to give them their favorite unit. Though I would then tend towards another material, like ceramics (probably too tricky), this sandstone stuff (which you can also get colored) or metal (rather expensive).

maybe i must say something to 3d Printers and this prints.
0. I'm only talk about FFF or FFD Technologie. There are others but they are using Toxic Material.
1. my Printer can do better but would be waste of my time for prototyps.
2. if you want better prints, you have to deal with complex Physiks and Math calculations.
3. All non openscource printer are forks of Openscource Printers or Crap.
4. You can solder and see 1/10 mm with your eyes and still whant one go here forum.RepRap.org
5. or get an preassembled one. for Germany let me know we can send you an offer.

The Material i use is PLA D42043 what is bioreversible and can be painted with acyl and other non agressiv chemicals.

The Modeling is ...ähhh.. so to make it Printeble for everyone you need a waterprove singel Hull with correckt normals and no double egeas or Vertices, You Also what nothing uncoltrolled in the inner of Your Hull.
