W00t, Pre-Infant steps!!!

It looks the same as the last picture but:
I didnt tell the AI to build windmills and metal makers specifically, just to get the best income. It simply picked the buildings by itself (it doesnt know how metal extractors work yet)!. In a map like comet catcher it would try and build air repair pads (yes theyre better than solar collectors, thanks to XTA) but the comm cant yet!
I think getting that income with just a comm and no metal extractors in under 6 mins is better than any AI so far
Now imagine it building mexes, with some help from cons... Would it build a huge army and kick your ass by the 10th minute? hell yeah :D

AAI 0.22 and NTAI 0.28 beta 8 are both capable of surpassing those levels of resources given the right map terrain. By that level AAI ahs both veh and kbots, and NTAI has started work on lvl 2 labs

Don't forget OTAI: mine would either be building it's first or second Lvl 1 plant and would have some defenses and a small army.
Good resource numbers are nice, but a real player needs to build other things too.

Good resource nubmers will dissapear when you build plants and radar etc instead of windgens

f***ing hell guys, no need to state the obvious, of course it hasnt built anything but metal makers and windmills, and of course it wouldnt make as many resources it it was buidling something else, but that is even more obvious.
My point was that no AI can get such an income WITH JUST ONE (1) comm and NO mexes... forget it!
Ill just not post screenies and updates anymore...
once my AI gets good enough to beat all other AIs in every aspect then ill release it and you guys will be happy...

But they can, it's just our AI's attempt to build offensive untis too so that those wind gens etc dont get blown up.
Things will change greatly when it starts building non-resource units.

No you're just making an unfair comparison. Show us those stats coupled with a few actively working factories and con units buildign defences too and you might get the reaction you wanted.

I didnt want a reaction, i was making a point, which is fully supported by the simple fact that if the comm is building the best energy building and metal makers, non-stop its physically impossible to beat that growth of income under the current factors (just the comm and no mexes), therefore, no AI, mine or yours or player could beat that since it is already the optmum.
Either way Im not gonna dwell on this argument if you choose not to accept my above explanation, its just a waste of time. Lets concentrate on useful things elsewhere okay?

My point is that your perfect choices are perfect. But onyl eprfect for the chocies you made.
Add a radar tower ro a factory into the equation adn the whole balance changes and it is no longer the most appropriate algorithm as it doesnt take care of all the factors anymore.

I say keep it - it shows how your AI is progressing - and progressing well too!

AF, are you trying to pick a fight? Or just make a counter-point? If you're trying to pick a fight, this is the way to go. If you're making a counter point, try forming a question, IE:
'Can you sustain it if you add in a factory or radar tower?'

But, well done! Keep up the good work!

Ah the voice fo reason speaks.
It was a little offputting to see someone boast my AI is much better at doing this than yours, then when the reason why is pointed out I get responses that I'm speaking chinese....... Saying your AI is better is soemthign people should refrain from unless they're talking "my AI beat your AI 20 times in a row, each on a different map done twice"

What does NTAI do under those conditions?
Posted: 02 Dec 2005, 20:33
by AF
It builds metal makers and progresses slowly till ti reaches lvl 2 where ti returns to normal or not based on what its been doing. It's a very fidgetty thing thats dependant almost entirely upon circumstances.

Hey krogothe, nice work. Personally, being neither an AI programmer nor particulalry sensitive, I thought you post, being as it was "hey look my fledgling AI does this really well" was pretty interesting.
Could folks desensitize a little? Just chill.

I must agree with Alantai here as I just don't get it

How do you know that the other AI's can't do the same or even faster?

From what I understand, all of the other AIs are more focused on the unit control, attack, and base building aspects of the game, and they mostly use the same bit of code to locate nearby metal patches...this bit of code apparently is mediocre, while krogothe's new AI is getting some serious economy going, rather quickly.
Granted, right now its a one trick horse..all it can do is build a great economy, no unit production, attack, base building or whatnot at the moment, but its a great start for a brand new guy. I kinda want to agree with krogothe, that economy is the basis of these games, so if his AI can consistantly outproduce the others, all other aspects being roughly equal, it will start winning. A lot. Still, that remains to be seen.
Well done krogothe.
