Spring .94 Crashes after 'test game' (noob)
Posted: 08 Apr 2013, 17:12
I'm trying to get Spring up and running on a 2011 iMac with Lion. I got spring to run on one of my old Linux machines a while back but I'm not having and luck with this machine.
I've installed the App version download to the applications directory, downloaded the spring1944 engine and a map, I've created the ./spring/games /maps locations in my user directory and put the maps and games there. (They show up in the launcher)
The app crashes after I hit the 'test game' button (assuming thats how you start a single player mode?) The game splash screen comes up and then either hangs for a while and then crashes or crashes right away. I've loaded some other games and maps and gone through a couple of different AIs but all similar results.
This forum is pretty quiet but I thought I'd give it a try. This sound like a problem that was posted about 6 months ago and it was suggested to try some command line changes to trouble shoot.
I also tried the previous version (.91 I think). Same deal.
I'm looking for either some hints to try or direction regarding what I'm missing or point me to a known good config.
I will try one thing next - changing the LoadingMT=0 flag that has worked for a couple of people last year. I don't know what it does, but figure I can't break it anymore than it is now that a reinstall can't fix.
I'm no power user but am not afraid of terminal either. I'm traveling for the next couple of days so am away from the trouble machine so can't grab the fail log for now.
Thanks
