Zero-K !!
Congratulations and many thanks to all the hardworking developers (not just of ZK!), contributors and players
http://planetspads.free.fr/spring/stats/graph_100.html
It has been a long and bumpy road, project was close to death for years, with only developers and few fans playing, until finally taking off in the two last years
We have some bold plans in the pipeline and hope to be providing even more fun and challenge! :)

It looks like those 2diagrams they make before drilling oil.. there you can see the fossil, there is the fuel, and a thin crust of xta, and covering it all is - the next ZK, read to BArry you :D
Now that the mood is calmed, the celebration has ceased, and everyone has wiped the sperm of lichos happiness out of there faces. Allow me to congratulate you!

Well the fuel idea is neat, but ZK players are mostly not BA players. Most BA players actually never tried to play ZK once.. Its mostly a new growth.

I think this is a more interesting chart than internal Spring popularity. I'm fairly sure these stats are based on Springie and don't have the common issues such as autohosts adding to the count.
This chart shows that BA has not really declined over the past year. But these stats are untrustworthy as I don't know how they are gathered and have heard of idle autohosts adding to the count.

The survivor of the battle has to eat the heart of the predecessor. So you have to copy paste BAs_ UnitFolder into your mod, to gain its courage. Youre allowed to pour chilli on it though!

Congrats!

Not sure, but it could be due to ZK being incredibly much slower than BA, so anyone who is used to BA will think ZK is a Spring emulator or something and immediately switch back to BA. At least this is how I feel when I do development. It is sad Lua has such limited performance.

I've tried about a dozen times in total, probably about once every six months average. Each time I've been greeted with a new bug or problem and instead of bothering to stick around and help fix them all, I just go back to my non-buggy BA because I'm lazy and don't care enough to help fix a game just so I can play it.
This is what ZK looks like for me currently:
Aaaaaand back to BA.

I tryed several time as well.
Last time I tried, after I manage to set up the GUI correctly which is the reason I always gave up before (BA gui is far less heavy), i played something like 20 game.
I stopped because:
- I get frustrated Vet have access to unit they say there are usless while they alwyas kill you with it which is frustrating
- there is far much more noob which make the game experience terrible if you are use to the BA data base: long story short, after 10 game I was on top most dmg almost always.
- communist game completely ruin the expansion process that make you want to advanced to win ground, but thus u need more resources to defend it. When I did that I get 1/8th of the resources. -> I understand why I is popular: it is noob friendly so noob can learn staying behind. That the reason most experienced BA player are bored imo

ZK now does not use pure communism, but investment return system, your expansion is first repaid to you and then its shared equally (share % gradually changes).
This helps to maintain fast expansion even in huge games.
However ZKs best players actually demand we return back to communism, because they dont like it when some individuals eco up and dont care about raiding/defenses and rest of the team has only small income from them.

How about a teamtax, paid by everyone depending how much combat he sees. Distributed back into the Team equally.

Ya I tried it too, and its nice but I like simpler games with less 'added on' features, so BA suits me better.
But congrats on ZK for establishing themselves as a spring mod.

Why only BA, Z-K and XTA are choosen to have names in graphs? From this some people can get strange feeling that XTA is the third most played game/mod

.

Do you have raw numbers instead of percentages?

My post had more links.
Explicitly:

BA players who try ZK probably do so with their own lobby so don't receive the settings deployed by ZKL. This reduces the chance of ZK working. They also are likely to mess around with the UI because they know that you can do that in BA. This could also cause things to break.
Put simply if you come at ZK as a standalone game it has a much higher chance of working than if you switch to it from BA and keep all your broken settings and UI preconceptions.

my pre-concived opinion is that more then nine icons (+buildlists+nearlyneverusedmainmenuebutton) are always broken
