You need a 'What's a Techforge?' option.

What's a Techforge?

And on that note, less god damn versions - went from 1.10 to 1.13 in one day?

A: No. I refuse to vote for an unknown. It's undemocratic.

B: Every TA player who has been around a bit knows what AA is. I've been around a bit. Don't tell those who haven't to die in a hole, otherwise we'll run out of people to beat in multiplayer. Not that I play multiplayer.

Yeah, bring back the techforge!

Techforge was the thingie that grouped both ground factories as one single building (instead of having to build kbots labs AND vehicle plant).

Really? I prefer the traditional view myself. But that's just me.

The AA creator, I know, is extremely careful and thinks out any changes thoroughly before even thinking about implementing them. He'll need a much better reason than 'It was shiny!'

Min3mat, precisely why do you think losing the Techforge is a bad thing? Less micromanagement in building, but is that balanced? These are the questions the AA developer asks very, very carefully before adding new units or structures, and changing existing ones. The only way you'll convince him to revert is by reasoned debate, backed up by shedloads of real hard evidence as to how it would make AA better.

EDIT: Ah, Caydr is the AA creator. Go bug him about it while I don my uber-effective Toaster-proof jacket...

EDIT: I vote C. Make Techforge units slightly more expensive, too, by giving the Techforge a metal and energy drain as continuous. The price of convenience, you see.

ok i've got a great idea for AA have both seperate and combined tech trees available but having the individual plants cost less than one of the combined plants, however using the combined tech tree is more cost efficient as you can progress to ahigher tech level faster abeit as you can only build 1 unit at a time a less defended base whereas your opponent could have been mustering an army while you were trying to build your first heavy unit, but the only way to get to the seperate tech tree from the combined one would be to go back to your level 1 units, these would be good ideas because a. it adds more overall strategy as what you choose at the beggining would effect how you would master your resources b. this means that "people who do not like the techforge"/heretics would not complain about them being so far away from ota and finally
c. i love the techforge

Cause it's less fun, and you're left with only 2 levels of building + gantries versus 4 plus gantries with techforges, which was much funnier

no using a combined plant would be LESS effective to tech up (get to every level slower) BUT would give diversity (omfg wtf BBQ! i have like enough m for two adv plants for my opponent sucks penis's / i suck penis's and am playing a goddamn metal map, now i can get both adv kbot AND adv vehicle without following the respective tech trees! w00t! also if ur opponent is pumping a unit that's only counter is a kbot u don't have to get another expensive plant!)

Space is very valuable. It would turn the combined plant into more of an investment but would save the footprint - so it would be more useful on smaller maps, and crucially, would only be used WHEN NEEDED. Cadyr's big on that. To include both would naturally make the original plants redundant without some sort of balancer.

EDIT: As an extra incentive the combined lab could be required for the very best units.

How about I show you the identical poll which took place at the actual AA forums, but with the opposite request. I've gotta pay more attention to what veteran AA players - WHO KNOW THE MOD - say, rather than new players.

Ew, you want that gross techforge thing back?

yuck yuck yuck yuck yuck.

I think its more fun without tech forges because with them you have a four level LINEAR build tree and everyone does/gets the same, however with the traditional method you have one two level build tree and one three level build tree.

It almost means 4 sides rather than just 2.

it was only 8-4 (against - for) in ur forums! its already 11-5 here! surely u value the opinions of 11 ppl who play spring more than 8 OTAers?

Having been on the TA scene longer, and having proven the values of your opinions counts for a lot.

Cadyr, I'm relatively new on the TA scene so I'm no veteran player. I just try to think like modders and game designers do... Do you think that my ideas hold any merit? Or do you have something entirely different in mind?

Mod makers opinion trumps all pollvotes.

[edit] and stupidly enough there are acctually people like me who didn't vote no just because I don't like threatening to kill people.
