Anyone else have trouble seeing for the first couple hours of the morning... I put it down to being so incredibly lazy that my eyes have figured out they don't really need to would out distance focussing and leave me near sighted while the parts of my brain that deal with seeing stay asleep... I'm not sure If I'm crazy or going blind etc...

I've had something similar, but it only lasts for half an hour or so. This will sound strange, but actually try this (I'm not joking). Turn on a bright light, like the one in your bathroom, and hold your eyes open with your fingers and force yourself to stare at it. Wakes you up in a hurry ^_^

It damages your sight too, and the big green splodge of afterglow takes ages to fade too ^_^

Look at a bright light? What are you a panzy? Just let off some fireworks.

My eyes are screwy until I rub the sleep out of them... usually no problem after that though. I get straight up and drive to school, so I have no major sight problems in the morning...

I ride the bus... aside from avoiding large objects like traffic... I don't need my eyes until my shift starts... and at that point only about 2 feet of sight...

whoa, that is really bad dude, something is wrong with the muscles in your eyes. You pupils probably are not dilating correctly... I'd see an eye doctor.
