That guy is such a bullshitter.
What was it he promised before the release of fable 1 2 and 3?

I really like Peter Molyneux. Just tone down everything he says 30% and you're always going to be super happy with everything he has ever made. Seriously, his games are great, but he always claims they will change the world, and that's just a little bit unrealistic.....

Its not what he says. Its the fact that he drew himself a halo from the glorious days of bullfrog, he speaks as if bullfrog never died and yet he cant deliver like in those glorious days at bullfrog. Conclusion: He never was a great gamedev in the first place, and just has a big mouth, able to collect other peoples laurel.

Now if some guys showed up, saying basically- yep we did it back then, we can do it again- they could use my money for toilett paper. Instead i get the same guy, who promised me black&white 1, 2, fable, and all that, and who never lived up to the expectations he was supposed to have set. Thats the reason. Right there, in the spotlight, telling me once again, how he will live up to the great gamedesignlimits he supposed to have manufactured all by himself. And i bet you one thing. He cant bring it. Because the guys in the 2nd row, are just the usual fools falling for the words. Unless by chance or luck there is another outstanding Not-Peter-Molyneux among them, to add another layer of plated gold to this legend carved from rotting wood.

Genewars. Dungeon Keeper. Popolous. Syndicate. Magic Carpet.

I draw my hat for the guy who designed those, sitting silenced by NDAs somewhere, till Peter calls again.

Because people never make mistakes and never deserve forgiveness.

i quite like the idea of populus... but was populus 3 not with full 3d planets as maps? and Godus steps back to the populus 1 design? don“t know about that. still... seems worth 15 pounds :)

Yep, i made a mistake to understand PM as the great GD, taking it by the word of - PM. I guess i should apologize for that mistake and take back everything i said.

Popolous 3 was the best.

I hate over-hyping designers as a rule. I think they are dishonest and are detestable because of it.

I always felt like Magic Carpet could have been a lot of fun if it hadn't had some many technical and aesthetic annoyances... it might be cool to see something like a Kinect or Motion controlled tablet take on the same concept.

I never liked Populous... should have made a better version of Syndicate instead.

I always thought the main Bullfrog talent went on with Mucky Foot, and that Startopia is kind of the last great Bullfrog game.

I don't know what the Mucky Foot guys contributed to other Bullfrog games, but I think Startopia is a jewel of game design. Art and game play, which I feel I can comment on, are great.

On a bit of a side note:
And I think it interesting a single great voice actor, the man who played the guide in The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy radio show, can help create a fantastic immersive atmosphere in Startopia. To me it's like playing "Hitchhiker's Guide - The game " :-)

Populous 3 pretended to have spherical maps, they weren't spherical at all, they were squares wrapped at either end, so technically a torus.

This was then disguised using clever transformations to give sphere like proportions

I did too... but I never beat it... there was this stage where you had to catch and throw back fireballs and my computer couldn't handle it. Also... I hated the Avatar/Pet mechanics... the rest of the game was fun, the pet was just annoying.

Thats what happens if coders look to deep into a kleinsche bottle

I wish they would have used something four or five dimensional. Just to see AF struggle everytime he pulls that rabbid rabbit out of his hat.
