Map editor tutorial

Hello guys this is my first post here so I hope you won't kil me for asking this!
Is there any tutorial of makeing maps? I mean I couldn't find any help for it!
What tools do I need for creating a map, exept the conv tools?
I started searching for a mapeditor because i wanted to convert an old TA Map (64x64) for TA:S.

wiki is your friend for any documentation you want. A good place to start is in there. There is many tutorials in the
Making Maps section of the wiki. Most of them are good, and some even supply pictures.

As well as making them sticky what if we compile a list of the and add them to the registration email?

Keep it open so we can add to it whenever we want. Maby we can get some terrain texturing turtorials up and what not.
