Spring RTS Engine

Hi, i've just updated my system with Windows8, and obviously i want to play spring in it.

unfortunately i encountered an error: below there is the log file.
Any idea?

ok, so what i have to do? At 4.01 mins spring crash every time in the same map, and for example in another map (neurope) crash at 3.04 mins (every time).

Probably it's a problem related to the memory allocation..

did you try the "normal" spring. infolog.txt ssays you used spring-mt...

thats on the todo... i already investigated it, but still have no idea why it doesn't detect the version :-/

@abma, i tried to look at the source to see why it didnt, but the regex used for version checking hurt my brain so I couldnt fix it

Until I have time to look at it, you could try to take the spring-multithreaded.exe from this archive

and drop it in your Spring installation folder.

No crash, at now: with this .exe i have no problem!!!

Good to hear. AFAIK this crash was caused by a compiler bug, so for once the dev team is maybe not to blame. The crash only occurs on some processor/OS combinations.

if it's helpful, my configuration is:

- Cpu AMD Ph2x4 965be
- Ram Gkill 8gb ddr3 1600Mhz
- Video: ATI 5850 1gb
- OS: Win8 Pro x64
- Hdd: Samsung 830 SSD
