Map conversion Request

Well, I would do it myself but the use of the map tools currently are very cryptic (to me)...

Back in 97 or 98 I made a map that is on TAMEC to this day and I would love for it to be converted if at all possible. I realize that most map makers are knee deep in their own projects so I'm not even sure if I'll get an answer but I thought I would try :D

If you would like to do this, take it convert it, improve it as you deem necessary, but that map was the only good one I ever made and it would make my year if someone did this.

If not thats ok too :)

thanks everyone

http://www.planetannihilation.com/tamec ... LD&ID=1387

There is the direct link to it.

It needs a little improving, like the water for example should prolly go, but honestly I don't care what anyone does to it. I'm all about improvements or just a straight convert.

I good with whatever. :D

thx for the interest dude :)

I personally would like some Lush maps converted but it would just not be the same without lush features.

Oh God I have to sign up to File Planet...

The "sign-up" page makes it look like you have to pay to register. You don't (or at least, I didn't when I registered)

Sorry about fileplanet, but tamec uses them. I can't do anything about it :(

Weaver, if you decided that tyou wanted to do it I would be honored, no big deal if you don't want to. :D

BTW no you do not have to pay for fileplanet.

Unfortunately I'm at work otherwise I would download the file and host it myself. :(

For some reason tamec decided that having their downloads thru fileplanet was a good idea... nubs.

would anyone some time have a chance to talk with me on IM and help me through the mapping process?

I would really like an experienced mapper to convert this one tho

I will start this weekend. I'll also offer help and advise to anyone. No IM for me though we could try Skype tomorrow some time, PM me first.

sweet! thanks weaver!

Napalm Kobra (sorry mufdvr, I hadn't paid enough attention the the names in my PM's) is gonna help my dumb ass thru some stuff.

Can you do the maps by putting them in layers and setting opacity at like 30 percent? Cause if so then that would make things much easier

If you need immediate help you should open up TASClient and ask in the chatroom. I'm usually willing to help whenever I'm online.

ok I'll keep that in mind, I'm at work right now but I plan to spend some time on this when I get home.

BTW something none of the tutorials cover... (unless I missed it)

How do you place trees?

Posted: 18 Nov 2005, 18:13
by FizWizz
to place trees (in Mother's Mapconv), you place green pixels on the metal map. The colors 200-215 give you the 16 different trees, if I'm not mistaken, and I don't remember what color grass is assigned to.

Pretty shure grass is on the feature map- 0 - 255 blue channel 0 = no grass 255 = full grass coverage.

is a feature map required?
