Hosting a server?

I've looked around, and I can't seem to find a good description of how to set up a server to play on. I'm just looking to host a game for 1-3 of my friends for when we can't find a server. Anyone have a link or page they could direct me to? Or maybe even experience in the area?

Most lobby clients have a 'host game' button which is pretty easy to use. Most problems people experience using that is their connectability as a host. Another option you could use is Springie, which is a host bot. It should work if you say this in chat:

/msg Springie !spawn mod=gamename, title=Roboto's game

It will create a host for you and it will PM you with the hostname (Springie1/2/3/4/5/6/7/8/9/10/etc)

You can give it further commands using !start !map !help

When you host the game yourself (using springlobby), just check the "use a relay" knob, and there will be no connection problems.

I've tried clicking "use a relay host" but the server doesn't appear in the battle list. It works if unchecked though.

Also Springie sort of works, but how do others join it? And what other commands should I know?
