Old maps - format converters?

I looked at some of the old maps in FileUniverse today, and found Buggi's Eternal Struggle. My first thought was 'WOW! What a cool map!". Then I remembered the map was in an old, obsolete format.
How would a body go about converting it? The map is great for adding a bit of RP into TA:S but is now unuseable. A shame, really, there's room on it for all kinds of units from Finks to hovercraft.
Are there even converters out there? I've been looking for some time with no joy.

Making a converter has suddenly jumped to #1 on my wish-list.

You need the source files to recompile the map. This is the map I miss the most!:

Well if you knew how the internals of the map files worked, it would be possible, with a lot of work, to uncompile a map. Then you would have your source files. Using these decompiled pictures you could recompile the map. Now I think about it, even a hacked Spring excecutable could possibly do it. Spring (obviously) has the ability to open up and read map files. You could then possibly get Spring to output the texture it loads from the map file to a .bmp picture. But again this could be alot of work. Good luck if anyone wants to try!
