Keyboard mapping and Graphics problems

Hi,

My main issue is this: I can't play a decent game of Spring because the frame rate is very slow (about 4 fps on a decent battlefield with a decent number of units on each side).

Graphics: Intel HD graphics (fully updated, and yes I have read the FAQ on it.)

So my next solution is to disable widgets so that I can play at a decent fps. The problem is that my Fkeys are already mapped to certain preloaded functions. They basically come with the laptop, you know, stuff like increase/ decrease brightness, media controls, etc. The function for F11 (the widget key in Spring) is to play/pause (for media control). As such, whenever I play Spring and want to open the widgets bar to speed up my game by pressing F11, nothing happens. It doesn't open up, because the key is already mapped. I tried looking for a manual way to change the widgets/decrease settings but I got nowhere.

So my main questions are thus, or TL/DR XD
1. How can I map Spring shortcuts so that I can open the widgets menu with a different key besides F11?
2. OR, how can I use the Registry / other tools to let F11 be used for the application such that F11 DOES open the widgets menu?
3. Are there any other ways I can increase performance on an Intel HD graphics card, or can I never play Spring? :(

Oh and for some reason, whenever I play Zero-K on the lobby (basically starting a game from the 0K lobby and playing on an online server with a bot), the frame rate is much improved, but it crashes much more often. NORMALLY, on offline games for example, it does not crash; it simply goes slowly.

Thanks!

Sadly, Intel HD graphics is not really a graphics card at all. You'll be lucky if it's ever good enough to play spring, even with all optional widgets disabled and all gfx settings on lowest.

Get an ATI or and NVidia card and you'll be fine though :). But get an NVidia one because they have less buggy drivers.

Fixed!! I basically just went into my BIOS and made it so that the pre-loaded functions had to be activated through [Fn]-Fkey instead of just Fkey. In terms of my graphics, I'm actually doing really well when I disable unneeded widgets. Maybe it's just the high amount of RAM that I have that probably takes the brunt of it.

Thanks for your reply Silentwings!
