What is wrong with RAI

I was playing BA against a couple of RAI. After a while, I used the globallos to see what was going on. It turns out the RAI built a huge number of units but they all sat around and did nothing. It looked like two big piles of units. They were not even in formation. Under what condition does RAI attack?

I'm also curious on this one. Sometimes the AI builds tons of units, but it just stockpiles them instead of attacking (not RAI specific for me). It doesn't happen all the time and some maps are worse than others (sometimes even placement on the map, ex: which corner I place my base, etc). I've been playing spring for over a year and this has always been an intermittent issue. I don't know how much work it would be from a development point of view (maybe its already possible?), but I think it would be fun if you could type something like "/cheat" then "/team2 attack" to make the AI ambush you...

RAI isn't really under active development, its just that it still works okay and its bitrot factor is rather low, so its more resilient at standing the tests of time than some of the older AIs.
Development wise you're in luck as RAI is the most copied AI out there, it's been duplicated in Java and its the most looked at AI, so your chances of persuading somebody to intervene are higher.
