Now we need to find a way to add snow...and ancieant shapshifting aliens that are suseptable to flamethrowers.

What would be realy nice would be the ability to add scripts to features and then a few more script functions like

raise terrain
lower terrain
crater terrain

And then when you blew up one of the snowballs it oculd leave a kinda bump on the ground.

Looks neat by the way.

Yeah, snow is all I need...then it will be perfection.

Well some missile bases, log cabins and such would be fun to add...

The maps plays alot like Lava Highground, little metal in the starting places (only 3 spots that give 2 per tick a piece) and alot of metal in the centre.

Wind is very high though so energy is quite cheap.

Snow COULD be easilly added if we added a particle emitor or something in the map that randomly drops snowflake particles, but alas, I can't code it...I could make a cheap unit that disperses snow all over the map, players could build that just for snow ;)

Now if we had a scripting engian or something like that, you could have a a big block of ice. Then when some one tried to reclaim it, a trigger could cause a massive, shapeshifitng monstrosity to appear and terrorize the map!!!!!

Then again, i really like The Thing

It could be done with "reclaimableto"

Although the unit would have to be included in a mod file the game read somehow.

wind energy, heh, its to cold. as for the features leaving marks you could just adjust the texture and hiegtmap, maybe the type map to, not very complex. Is it possible to make the solars not work? cause i get like 4 hours now and a few minutes less every day. besides alaska isn't terrible like ur map, i'm thinin more north canada, but not to north, yaknow kinda mid-northish. lol

It's my first 16x16 map.

Unfortunatly I might have to re-render it since the top of the moutains don't look good. (too flat, too boring)

Chrono, I know most of Alaska isn't like portrayed like in this map, but Alaska is a very strategic point in the continental US.

Thanks for the feedback guys :)

I still want it to appear a little darker though.

I updated the texture map, it looks alot nicer now, I just need to figure out a few things though.

should units be able to scale the moutains?

I still have to muck around with the height map since it's a little bit off now for some odd reason...

I'd say yes but only by set paths and not just by walking up the side form any old place. Otherwise NTAI etc will be a little complacent when placing buildigns in places ti cant reach.

FU is pissy about files that get close to 10 meg... even if they are under. Either email gnome or storm or catch one of them on IRC (gnome hangs out in #TASpring on gamesurge sometimes)... It usually just takes an FTP upload and notification, but if you don't have the FTP username and pass then that it's kindof difficult to do, plus they won't organize it unless they know where it's supposed to be.

I have acces to the FTP but I like to let them know beforehand, I usually abuse Gnome for my FTP needs...guess I pimp him...muhahhah

I'll go on the IRC...
