Spring RTS Engine

Hi,

I have a clean install of Spring 0.82.27 and try to start a test game with the included map, ai and game.

But whatever I do, I don't have a unit I can control. And it seems that my player is inactive?

I have tried to start the game through both the lobby and the spring.exe.

Are I'm missing something?

there is no included game or map with the default engine installer (from this site). so you probably have an old game.
when in the lobby, just join one of the online games, eg BA or ZK, and it will automatically download it for you.
you can then exit the game again, and host one by yourself.
Most AIs only work well with BA. some other games (ZK, KP, S44, ...) come with their own AI.
if it still does not work, attach infolog.txt after a game that did not work. attach it as file, not as text in your post, please.

The game also starts up on the map, but me the player is not there....

Oh well, I downloaded the latest Balanced Annihilation and it worked.

Newest version of Balanced Annihilation is 7.50

put that file into Spring\games\ba750.sdz

For AI, I find RAI 0.601 (should be included in your install) to work well with BA.

I looked around but found no download that contains engine + BA + a map. Got a link?

i think he had an old Ba from a former install, and just though it came with the latest installer, as it was already where without him installing anything else then the engine (this time).

The issue is the map. It is fubar due to newer spring release. It caused some kind of weird issue with game spawns luaz (which may have been fixed from the luaz side of things).
