Thanks to all that Neko has taught me I have managed to make a fairly good mod for TA spring. It includes all the core contingency units, all cavedogs addon units (the necro etc.) and it has all the update patch units (like the warrior). It has a tech tree very similar to XTA and it includes two level 2 mech units, the Ketzer and the Razorback.

I have included pictures of the mechs below.

well im not playing it. UH and AA or XTA are my mods of choice (until someone alters OTA so units can climb hills)

Im intrested, but i need more info... give us some changes from XTA/OTA?
(what is your mod based on btw?)

I mean, if it's close to XTA and only 2 new units... why play it?

Why does everyone make arm kbot-s that look like core... owell...

Looks neat, but more info would be nice...

I personally like that style of K-Bots, hence the Raven...

seems I made that new K-64 for nothing then...

Hehe GZ I would love to use your nw K-64 model, I thought the older K-64 was petty swish. I added you to MSN so if you could pass me the files I'd happily put i in.

And, to everyone who is asking what my goal in this mod is it's to make the races in TA more unique. I am going to aim to make the arm a more swarming race; going with their ideals of speed and cheapness/quick build times. I am then going to make the core even more elite, so what we should see at the end of the day will be some big core level 2+ units wading through the arm, whilst being swarmed. This mod may be hard to balance, because the races will be so different. But I think I can do it.

Keep in mind I am really new to modding, the only other real mods I have done were for the original homeworld and they were pretty lame. Also this is completely different. I am trying my best and with the help of the communities suggestions I hope to make a mod that will be fun to play.

I'm not trying to out-do Kuro/XTA, I know I cant do that those guys are awesome and I love their work. I thank Neko especially for all his help so far.

And yeah the models are old ones until I can get ahold of some new ones... but theyre not too bad.

Thanks, hehe.

I have just put in a couple more swarming style tanks for the Arm.

One is the pincer, its pretty useless on its own but in packs its lethal, also its amphibious!

The other tank is the burning arrow, its a different way to use emg. Instead of firing a constant stream it launches small barrages of emg fire that arc down upon the opponent (just like burning arrows in fact :P)

Heres a picture of them, the pincer is on the left and the burning arrow is firing.

Edit: Udated the mod with The core garpike which is a sort of counter to the pincer, and the Core invirigator which is very good for de-swarming early on but will drain your energy so beware! Its firepower comes at a price. Garpike on left.

Edit2:

Coachwhip light flak tank for arm;

Yeah, thats right, I had some free time so I did a little more work on the mod.

^ Bugga light rocket buggy for arm (level 1)

Image

^ Groundbreaker core artillery (level 1)

^ Dragon tooth dank (DTT) for arm (level 1)
This unit is very interesting indeed. When you self destruct it (ctrl+D) it has no countdown and instantly explodes leaving behind instead of its wreckage (which blasts away and fragments) a dragon tooth. A very useful little tool. The shot shows one destructed, one still mobile ad one 'deploying'. Enjoy, more to come soon, especially for core.

I like this concept! Hope you can make something fun! Release some test mods, so we can try and comment

A beta test will probably be coming fairly soon, but I want to make the tech tree different from XTA first... yet, still find a good way of making it so core and arm can obtain level 2 units quickly (core will need this)

It seems to be a bunch of extra units. I have noticed you are putting in some of the adv. scripted units. Would the deployable bridge unit be in this too?

Also, I saw the name Razorback in there, would that be the regular razorback...or the limited edition one? :D:D:D

Its the razorback SE (Special edition) which uses the power laser, but at a cost of 1500 energy. Its going to be the only power unit the arm has in TA:U.

Another unit added for core, the exterminator tank (level 2)

Any intention of remodelling the basic structures, i.e. KboT lab, solar collector? I always like it when the basics have their own models!

Yes, if I get 3DSM for christmas from some random person who feels I deserve it... In other words, not soon..

Well, heres' a nice big core unit, some may recognise. It's SARA the support tank.

It is fairly powerful, but not excessive. Its main role is to support the core army, especially their aircraft.
