Spring RTS Engine

Went to see what all the fuss was about a couple of weeks or so ago.
Got hooked.
Became 20% manlier.

So, wondering if anyone else around here is a closet brony?

If you haven't seen it yet, definitely give it a try (all the Season 1 episodes are available on Youtube - you may want to skip the two pilot eps though, they're so-so and not really representative of the show). Writing is great, characters are deep (especially for a kid's show), and it manages to be funny a good portion of the time.

Definitely not a brony.

A lot of kids' shows have the plot depth the MLP thing has, the pony show just happened to be received well by the internet (especially the imageboard folks).

Not to say that MLP:FiM is bad! It's pretty sweet! I even watched a marathon of it when it was all over the internet!

Thing is Cartoon series these days are always full of anti cathartic moments in the name of prolonging and cashing on the series as much as possible.
I guess it was always like that with most cartoon series...Just as an adult it becomes too obvious.

I didn't like how the characters were drawn in Batman. They were too boxy.

Some shows are still watcheably good as an adult. In some cases, the rose-coloured glasses don't come off - you see the old show and it still holds up. Batman TAS is one of those.

Teenaged Mutant Ninja/Hero Turtles is not one of those.
