Absolute Annihilation: Spring[old]

With 375 balanced units, Absolute Annihilation is the single most-downloaded Total Annihilation units pack. Now AA has been ported to Spring and takes advantage of this new engine's every feature.
Readme file and changelog included.

Huh? Can you give more details? I've heard nothing like that from the other dozen or so people who have reported back so far.
Well, anyway, as you can see I've added 5 or 6 bugs to the list above. A couple of them are very severe, so I'll get version 0.2 out tomorrow or so.

are'nt the lasers a bit good vs air? i find that they pwn my bombers evrytime...

As an errorbox, while an orcone was wrecking havoc, so i cant say what exactly was destroyed when the error occured.

Is it a bug that the metalmaker (tech lvl 3) produces 1,5 metal with no energycosts? I think thats a bit too good isnt it?

Arm gantry. But no unit references armshlt in any way... although it does exist, an artifact of the OTA AI system.

Not a bug, but perhaps unbalanced in Spring. Might be output-reduced or removed.

Might be. It's hard to believe that a bunch of LLTs or something killed a bunch of bombers... what specific units are we talking about?

Maybe he is talking about the streaming lasers?
Those are hitscan, so they could potentially rape air.

The name escapes me, but AA has one tank with rapidfire lasers that I'm very fond of. In Spring, those lasers are used for anti-air combat with wicked effectiveness.
I'm starting to think that the best approach might be to crank up the armor of aircraft to obscene levels, but to make all SAM weapons do correspondingly excessive damage. This would mean that normal lasers would be somewhat innefective vs. aircraft but simple AA weapons would do the job. The only drawback is that it is nice that a plane can be harmed when it is doing patently stupid things, and you'd lose that effect. If your Krow gets hit by Bertha fire then you're doing something very, very wrong with it, and deserve what you get.
The fact is that AA uses a lot more laser weaponry than normal XTA, and now that laser weaponry handles differently it really changes the gameplay. Perhaps switching a large number of weapons over to Gauss or a similar projectile would be appropriate? Maybe switch the rapid-laser-tank over to a quick-moving EMG?

radar lvl3 dont see objects in egde of the map.
in my case it was left-down edge and reactor.

I can't seem to find the stealth cloackable tank for arm...were some units taken out of AA for Spring?

there are alot of Units taken out of AA. For example the Agamemnon, Marauder and Demolisher (all Arm, i didnt testet AA Spring with core yet).
But some Units are new: the Razorback and the Energyshield (cool :D)
