Look superb for tablets to me.....If you have ever used the windows phone 7 tile system you know it works well. This is for tablets, your desktop will not look like this (unless you want it to).

I still haven't seen a phone or tablet OS that compares favourably to WebOS.
I'd have to see more and probably use this new OS before making a useful judgment.

Is this tile/app thing for all uses of windows or only tablets?

Yes I watched it two months ago when this was news. It is also absolutely optional, just like the new RIBBON UI. Yes most of us hate the new stuff, but some of the less computer savy users may appreciate the option.

Bad comparison in thread title. Windows ME sucked because it crashed all the time. Its ui was fine.

- Turn the tabs UI off
- Revel in the much faster windows 7 style UI with far fewer system requirements than windows 7

Gunner (AKA God, AKA COX) interned at MS last year. He said that, to him, the new UI looked to be super-awesome.
We'll see...
One thing's for sure: I'm not buying 3 new monitors so that I can run Win8.

When Photoshop runs natively on linux and so do my games, I'll consider it. Also, when I can change my fucking resolution without having to edit xorgconf (seriously, how fucking stupid is that?).

Are you kidding, it was 5-6 years between XP and Vista, then 3ish years later it was 7, now its been about 1.5 years, and dont expect 8 until at least 2012
