a) this thread is a joke originating in
thistopic.
b) Dude, you PMed me asking if I knew anything about the new GUI, why are you telling other people to be patient?

Bring forth the whips!
*WHIP!* WORK HARDER!
Srsly, i think it will be done in 2-4 weeks. Also, keep in mind they are doing this for free, and if we push em, they become slaves, and we go to jail. And they get free cookies from help organistaions and land good jobs at microsoft. And we would't want that, now would we?

Juninkomiko should be working on it in his spare time.
But he is not extremly communicative those time and his last commit to the CVS is 2 weeks ago.
But he has said he was recoding the input handling, and it can take some time.
So the best you can exept is an answer from Juninkomiko.

ahem, kixxe I wont be giving out free cookies if there are any whips involved.
So what topic is next in line gnome in the rotation?

Well, the last cvs commit 2 weeks ago was close to zero progress.
And while i could live with the current gui quite ok, one feature _is_ needed: Wreckage/feature tooltips. I am good at guessing, but i would like to _know_ what exactly im trying to ressurect, or if i have enough metal storage to reclaim that map feature...

hhhm? If a feature is ressurectable then it's corpse will be recognisable enough by its shape, otherwise I doubt piles of rubble are ressurectable.
Though I'd like to see how much reclaiming would give me.....

sorry, but in the heat of combat, its often NOT recogniceable if thats a panthe or a bulldog, or a flakker or a radar jammer...
By the same logic, once could remove the name of the normal unit-tooltip, too, because its visible which unit it is ...

I'd say Gnome is more of an emerald...

Also, btw IMSabbell, this feature is already in the new GUI is it not?
cookie for Warlord.....

by IMSabbel
yes, it is.
What i meant is that although i could live with the old gui in most aspects, this one _should_ be implemented sooner or later anyway.

For future reference, I love the old gui and I hope when the new customizable gui comes out I have the option to keep using it...

One request: you should not be able to read the description of a unit if it's not yours. Things like decoy fusion reactors are pointless if they can be so easily identified.

The New GUI should be at work but i am not entirely sure when its going to be realised.
No choice but to kick back and wait for it to appear.
Isnt there A test GUI in File universe Why not some of us have a look at that and see if we can attemt to fix that GUI up our selves.
That should be interesting and i think some of us should have the Rescources and intellegence to do it.
