Wouldnt it be cool

if we had a graphical representation of code in the IDE, that would go beyond the usual "antroad on papyrus" that fills the screen during work?

I mean, if this idiot from marketing dropped by, bragging what he acomplished today, and demanding to know what youve been doing all day, and instead of giving a lengthy explaination, that the guy wouldnt understand anyway - you hit the key. And the IDE zooms out, revealing something like an airbus egnine and clockwork made of glass, making even hello-world looking impressive. It shouldnt be really usefull, it should only be there, to silence the clueless.

like.. converting code into a string of numbers and then visualize it with something like visualization stuff in winamp?

an other alternative is showing a video of that commit-history visualization thing.

if it makes hello-world look impressive, it will not make anything look impressive when you have seen it once or twice.

mmh.. agreed on helloworld- no i was thinking about something like this...

You remember the codeview of ghost in the shell? Pretty useless for oversight (everything is- except paper and logic thought :D ) but would be great for showing off.

the secret is to use push button magic and then make a gif to make the code visible.
fact: if you can't show it in a gif its probally useless.

Lean over to smug marketing guy and go psst, I have secretly been working on the next big "thing" during office hours.

The idiot from marketing will think you're doing something profound and plead for you to let him in on it, holding you in awe for months, until what you claimed to be doing doesn't materialize. At which point he will think you're an even bigger loser than before. But it's worth it.
