I didn't bother with the chicken spires as those are pretty obvious. Also I have 1 spare slot for an extra upgrade item if you think of one.

Well, still waiting on licho to respond. this is a rough concept I was chatting with him about, it is only a hour of work and will be shot down or approved based on licho's feelings. I was going to do little cities but when shrunk they were hard to make out.
Licho I am working late today and work out tonight so I won't be on mumbe. Please leave some feed back.

Wow, looks really nice
I would just make wormhole and jumpgate more different (wormhole/improved wormhole smaller perhaps?)
Also in real icons, we might need to show all of the "off planet" structures on the south pole, there is only room there and the ring will have to be much closer to planet surface to save space.
Clan owner icon goes to top left, name on top and fleets in orbit to top right.
We will also need dropship depot and factory and techlab and mine 1 in "destroyed" state and something for chicken infestation.
Can be some green organic goo on the planet or something :)
EDIT: actually gates could stay, we can resize them and make wormhole with and without glow. No glow - default wormhole, glow - wormhole stabilizer. Purple glowing thing - jumpgate to teleport anywhere.
EDIT2: desotryed "mine" means basically mineable planet. So perhaps some shadow/ruin where normal mine 1 goes (or tech or dropship stuff).

Yeah like I said last night I only had an hour to do them, I plan on making them better for the final version(warp/jump structures)
Defens ring I ca rotate 30 degrees clockwise and it not block the clan stuff. I can move it closer if you want sure how much closer?
Oh I have something *infected* planned for chicken worlds
So you n├®ed a mine shaft or you mean like dirt spots showing the planet is mineable?(only certain planets can be mined?)

basically only certain planets can be mined.
Mine can be destroyed, if it is destroyed it must be built up level1,2,3.
Some planets start with tech lab or dropship stuff- tech lab or dropship factory/depot can also be destroyed and owner must then invest money to rebuild it.
Same for jump gate - you cannot build it anywhere, planets start with it, but it can be destroyed and rebuilt any number of times.
Perhaps guns could be rotated 120 and 300 or 120 and 240 degrees? And wormhole/jumpgate side by side at bottom? Dunno it might look stupid.. i guess we will see when we test it on the map.

Ok so you need 2 destroyed states chickens and regular. Gotcha.
What about abandoned states for worlds that have the facilities but they are not in use due to no one occupying them?

Nah just "unbuilt/destroyed" = 1 state for those structures:
wormhole
jumpgate
tech
dropship fac
dropship depot
mine 1
That should be enough
+Chicken infestation
Imo unoccupied planets dont have to be marked especially, because they are colored on galaxy map once you join map

Here is the current icon that is shown over a planet hosted by a Springie. It's the green circle.

These icons obscure the planet which is not good if you want to look at the map and take in the features of the planets that are being fought over. I think a better icon would be some kind of crosshair that surrounds the entire planet with the main body of the icon beyond the planetary defence circle.

How do you need it? Individual items cropped or like all the void space as well?
