Is 3do format the only format for adding custom objects?
Can you use lightwave .. .lwo or someting else ...?
If someone knows more info can you post it ... I have custom
trees and weeds in 3ds format. I need to know what format
the Spring engine prefers...
Also, what is the best 3d util for converting 3ds to 3do ...?

Yeah, you can only use 3do currently as far as I know, and that limits you to the texture sheet limit.

Wings works for converting .3ds to .obj, which you can import in 3doBuilder and save as .3do. I think one of the axes (X?) gets inverted somewhere along the way though (not really an issue with trees and grass though)

carful though... all the pieces of your thing (unless it's all one object) needs to be exportes separately...

Bigger warning, All peices must be converted into just one object as spring currently only reads in the "Base" obj as the feature.

so that's why the cool extra bits arn't showing up in Acid Bridges... even though they were there in 3DO builder...

Yeah, corpses are the same way. I've complained (oh yes, I'm quite good at that), but they've said it's not worth the cost (since each seperate piece in Spring is apparently like adding an extra 50 polygons to the model).

We need to whine at Buggi until he release his much improved 3do editor he was working on, and then whine some more until he adds a "merge piece" command.
