They kind of look like little hairballs, but the fennec foxes have awesome ears.

*Post edited to fix spelling.

See, I knew that the "discontinued" version of Firefox for windows mobile was called "fennec" but I didn't know why until just now... thank you Internet.

While I would grant that that is a name ascribed to red pandas I'm pretty sure the Firefox is a reference to the magical foxes in Japanese folklore (in the same way that their email/news/messaging software is named "Thunderbird").

I know, I saw a tanuki in the woods in japan when my dad thought it would be funny to drive down a road just because it wasn't on our GPS because he knew the people we rented the car from were tracking our location and wanted to freak them out.

Wikipedia tells me you are wrong anyways:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_panda wrote: In Chinese language, the red panda is called Õ░ÅþåèÞ▓ô (xiÃÄoÔÇïxi├│ngÔÇïm─üoÔÇï, lesser panda, red panda),[69] and þ║óþåèþî½/þ┤àþåèÞ▓ô (h├│ngÔÇïxi├│ngÔÇïm─üo, lesser panda, red panda).[70]

The English name firefox is often claimed by English sources to be a literal translation of the Chinese name for the red panda. But the Chinese word þü½þïÉ huÃÆÔÇïh├║ÔÇï refers to the Firefox web browser.[

The Giant Panda is called þåèþî½/þåèÞ▓ô (xi├│ng m─üo, or "bear cat").
Whereas the Kitsune are red/orange foxes that cast fire magic.

FUN FACT: I saw something in Yellowstone National Park that may have been a female Jakalope but was more likely a rabbit.

Obviously I was provided incorrect information on the subject by a wikipedia article.

nope

btw kitsune means FOX

not some mythical creature..

you could have bothered to check your shit before correcting panda thus forcing me to correct you. Which i think makes you look like a know it all and really urks me. if you are going to present information at least do the MINIMAL to verify it.. like I don't know checking the website.

Whenever I see that that thread title, I feel just like your avatar. My eyes immediatly go blind, as a vain tentative of autopreservation. But it's too late, the horrendously deformed words have already hit my retina. No matter how many times I've felt it, I'm always blasted by how excruiating a pain can the glimpse of such abhorrently maimed letters cause me. It aches so much that tears of blood starts appearing around my eyelids. They grow so big and so fast that soon, they start falling under their own weight, cascading down my cheek. But the pain remains.

How can you say you love them if you can't even spell them right?
